No Top Sheet?

I was just reading the awesome post about cruising tips and read a section of Things You Need to Know and it listed "You need to ask for a top sheet if you want one".

WHAT???

Is this something new? I've cruised before and I don't ever remember not having a top sheet. And I'm pretty sure I would remember that!

Eight Carnival cruises and I've always had a top sheet.

Didn't have one on my Hurtigruten cruise in Norway (just a duvet,) but they also don't have them in their homes there.

I have always had a top sheet.

Someone also said to use the plastic laundry bag. They're paper.

Never had to ask for a top sheet.

This is really odd. I've never seen this question, ever - and now there are two threads started with the same question with 1/2 hour of each other.

And I've never sailed on a ship without the top sheet. That is all I use.

Don't believe everything you read. Of course you get a top sheet.

With Princess you have to ask for a top sheet because they reuse the heavy duvets passenger after passenger. :eek: Always have a top sheet with Carnival and thankfully no duvet.

It's Princess that uses the duvets and you need to ask for a top sheet if you want one. ;)

That is seriously disgusting.

Actually, Princess does change the duvets. Even on a B2B, ours was changed between sailings. :)

WE had one last month.

The top sheet is seriously tucked in and you have to really pull to get it out from under the mattress to slide yourself in - so some may not have bothered and don't realize it is even there.

You get a top sheet...............and a blanket. :D

I think they change the blanket between cruise. I remembered going back to cabin after breakfast on the last day of the cruise. And all the bedding was stripped off and taken away

Oh good grief, now John Heald is going to make a social media post to defend the fact that they are not eliminating top sheets as a cost-cutting tactic. [emoji57]

Dang! Guess we'll have to pack pillows now along with our favorite brand of toilet paper. ;)

Too many pillows in my opinion. We always throw a couple on the couch. Maybe because we pre pay our gratuities.:D

Actually, it appears to be a mostly European custom. On our last Seabourn cruise we had to request a top sheet. A number of their staff come from the other side of the pond.

We always had a top sheet.
