Hope I make someone's day!!! I found out that if you go to hsn.com and ask for a free brochure for ncl, they give a free OBC of 100.00 for bookings by 8/2012. Hope this isn't old news. But I just signed up for mine for my oct.sailing.:):):)

Did you receive your brochure yet? I requested mine 2 weeks ago now and still haven't received anything. Did you apply it to a new or existing booking? There was another thread posted on here about it, but we're still trying to figure out 1) when I'll receive the brochure for this magic code and 2) if it can be applied to existing reservations (I know the terms say it's only for new, but it doesn't hurt to ask your travel agent)

I've been waiting to make a new reservation since I requested the brochure from HSN.com over a week ago. Called the central 800 # on Saturday and a rep who checked with the Help Desk said the $100 couldn't be applied until I receive the brochure. So I'm thinking magic code. Today I decided to call my PCC and he finds the $100 coupon already attached to my Latitudes #. That surprised me since HSN didn't ask for a Latitudes # or even a phone #. Anyways, I haven't received the brochure, but got the $100 HSN OBC.

So, if anyone is waiting for a brochure before calling about it, I would call your PCC and have them check your Latitudes account.

Don't know if it can be applied to existing reservations. Sorry.

Thanks for the tip! I called, got a special NCL number dedicated to this deal. Now I just have to wait for the brochure.

Even if you have existing reservations, if it's before final payment (and obviously, the cruisefare hasn't gone up much), it's possible to cancel and rebook.

I forgot to ask if it's combinable with Latitudes OBC, or if it has to be instead of. If anyone else calls, can you please ask?

I am booked directly with NCL. I have had 4 recent upgrades to my reservation for both price reductions and OBC's. All were stipulated as to new bookings only. I had every intention of cancelling and rebooking since I am more than 9 months out. The representative(s) 4 of them all just applied discounts and credits without a cancel-rebook. I was told that NCL is getting away from that policy of cancel-rebook and just accepting the inevitable that you are not going to be happy until you get what you want and deserve.

I have no idea how this works through a TA but I suspect they would get it for you as well and I have no idea what happens if you are less than 9 months out.

NCL seems to be moving toward a better customer service aspect skipping the cancel-rebook and I am gladddddddd!:D

My HSN credit did not affect my bonus days credit or my Bermuda days credit or my AARP discount. I am a solo cabin on the getaway and I am already up to a 300.00 OBC and a 5% discount from AARP.

So plug away and remeber one reps answer may be a different answer from amother rep. I have also found if you do not like your answer or your options then asking to speak to a supervisor will always get you some satisfaction even if it is only a portion of that OBC.

Received the brochure in the mail today along with a letter dated 7/9/2012. Just as I thought, no "magic code". "As a special thank you from HSN and NCL, you're eligible to receive $100 to spend on board any 5+ day Norwegian cruise when you book by August 31, 2012... Once you're ready to make your reservation, please make sure you mention your Client ID listed above to redeem your $100 onboard credit..." There isn't actually a Client ID listed but a couple weeks ago I got an email from NCL saying I have 2 Latitudes #s and they merged them for me. So I'm thinking if you request the brochure they sign you up. My #s were merged and no points lost in the process.

Oh, the letter also says "use your $100 towards relaxing spa services, romantic dinners, adventurous short excursions or for whatever you wish. They probably should add a disclaimer "except DSC and casino". ;)

Hmmmmm....I've got an existing reservation for March 2013, and I just booked it last week. I got a good deal, but, the $100 sounds even better. Maybe I should call and try? Has it worked for anyone with a cruise that is already booked?

Yes, see my post above. I just called NCL last night and they had my HSN credit in my reservation and applied it. I booked in May and no problems with booking prior.:D

Thanks! I called the number on the HSN website right after I signed up for the brochure to be sent out and told them the situation and NCL said that I would have to cancel and then rebook the cruise to get the credit, and that I have to wait for the brochure. Maybe I should try the travel agent instead?

Interesting.. because we booked through a TA, will we need to contact the TA once we get a brochure?

I got my brochure on Monday, so it took about a week and a half to receive. There IS a "magic code"/client ID listed on the letter that comes with the brochure - it's tiny and on the top-right corner. Trust me.

I emailed the code to my travel agent and she was able to apply it to our existing reservation with no issue. I am very happy! :D

I have 3 future cruises booked with NCL, One is a definite, two I decide between - I'm just waiting to see which fits into the schedule better. Do we have a choice as to which one the OBC gets applied to?

I wonder if they just keep the OBC notation in your file and apply it to whichever cruise you actually go on.

I would assume you provide the reservation number and ask them to apply it towards that. Ask your travel agent though.

I agree. Thanks for the info, Attila. I'll just be patient and wait for it to come in and hopefully my travel agent can get it applied as well. Thanks!

I just scanned a copy of the letter from NCL with my client ID number to my travel agent to see if I can apply the credit to my booked 16 day cruise this October. My final payment is not due for three weeks, so I will let you know if it works.

Thanks for the heads up on this- I was just beginning to explore NCL and put in for this credit. Booked yesterday and mentioned this to my agent and he seems to have seen it. I'll be sure to follow up but it was a nice welcome to NCL for sure!

I must be blind - I went to HSN.com and (for the life of me) I couldn't find any info or link about a brochure request or the $100 OBC.

Could someone please post a link to the HSN.com request? TIA

John, I didn't see one either, so I just went to their search box, put in NCL and it came up. See if that works for you. :)

Thank you very much. It worked. I could have sworn that I did a search for it before but obviously not with "NCL" alone. I think I searched "NCL brochure" and got no results. No matter - this time, it worked. Thanks again.
