Whale watching in late January

we will be on the Carnival Miracle on Jan 29. 2017. is this a good time to see some whales. we will have our 4yr DD with us, so need some sort of family friendly options too. We port in Cabo and PV.

Be up on deck before you anchor in Cabo. Beginning of February we saw many whales and dolphins before about an hour or so we rounded Lands End. Can hire a glass bottom boat at the Marina.

Peak season. Lots of whales. Agree with SadieN. Be in a good viewing spot for the 60-90 minutes prior to arriving in Cabo. You will see lots of whales then, and likely from the ship as it is at anchor at Cabo.

Our last trip down to Cabo we had a Pod of Whales swimming along side of the ship as we departed port at Cabo.

Could even see whales while anchored. Once saw a whale breaching in front of an NCL ship while she was rounding Land's End.

The most amazing whale "watching" is from a couple of fishing villages on Magdalena Bay in Baja, where you can go out in a small boat and a "friendly" whale comes up to the side with her baby to be petted with your outstretched hand. Beats any other "whale watch" I've ever been on!
