New Year's Eve Party??

Has anyone sailed on Carnival during New Year's Eve? I've booked a cruise during New Year's and am wondering if Carnival still has a party to celebrate? I was told by someone who did a New Year's cruise a couple of years ago that the New Year's party wasn't actually held on New Year's Eve. Any comments???

My family went a couple of years ago (2009 rolling over into 2010) and they had free champagne most of the day and a HUGE deck party with free champagne again that night. The party was for the passengers and crew alike. It was a blast!

Also - besides the great deck party and free champagne, hats, noisemakers they give out, if your ship has a big screen on Lido, they televise the countdown from Times Square. Lots of fun!

Great! So, they actually had the party on New Year's. That's good to hear. I thought it was kind of weird from them to have it on a different day.
