Travel between Honolulu and Laie.

Can anyone let me know the best way to get from Honolulu to Laie. Rent a car, take a taxi or a bus? We are in port from 8am to 11pm, so time is not really an issue. Thanks!

While TheBus can get you there, I would rent a car.

I would for sure rent a car and with the amount of time you have you can certainly also see more of the island.

Rent a car. I assume you are going to the PCC and I will also assume that renting a car is going to be cheaper than an excursion from the cruise line. Having a rental also gives you flexibility to see sights on the way or back and choose eating spots to stop at. On the way there for example you could stop at the Nu'uanu Pali Lookout and on the way back take the longer, coastal route (Kalanianaole Highway) and stop at Hawaii Kai for the original Roy's Restaurant.
