Dear Friends of the USVI,

One week ago, we wrote to you from vinow reporting that the effects of Hurricane Irma on St. Thomas, St. John and Water Islandwere devastating. At the time, we noted that St. Croix was ok. Sadly, that statement is no longer accurate. On September 19th, a second category 5 hurricane hit the U.S. Virgin Islands. Hurricane Maria devastated St. Croix, and brought significant flooding to the already damaged sister islands. All islands in the U.S. Virgin Islands are now in recovery mode.

After our last email we received many, many emails from you with prayers, concerns, offers to donate and volunteer, ideas, and questions on when you can come back. We are grateful for your enthusiasm and encouragement. Please keep the emails coming. We hope to begin addressing your questions next week on our recovery blog.
