Helicopter tours

Which island would be the best if we can only do 1 tour by helicopter. Have looked at several YouTube videos and they all look amazing. TIA:D Will be on the Pride of America

That depends upon how you define best?

Kauai is a lush island, the Big Island has volcanic activity and Maui is a combination of lush scenery & a dormant volcanic landscape...which is best for you?? ;)

Each island has it's strong points & don't think you'd go wrong with any of them.

We did Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour a long time ago on Maui. It was great, perhaps Maui would be the best bet for a first timer.

Living in Maui, I didn't want to show a bias for here but I agree that it would be the best combination for a once in a lifetime helicopter tour in Hawaii.

Maui has rainforest areas with waterfalls & the volcanic landscape of Haleakala which is a good combination. Kauai is often mentioned as the best destination for a helicopter tour. However it lacks the variety of Maui and Mt Waialeale has the largest yearly recorded rainfall so that could prevent safely flying to some of Kauai's lush beauty.

Despite having a career flying helicopters I've never taken an aerial tour & was being objective for the OP to decide which was their best option.

Thanks Astro Flyer. 1st trip to the islands and celebrating 40th anniversary. Just looking for that WOW factor. Will do more research.

Congratulations on your 40th anniversary & have a great 1st trip to Hawaii.

Maybe you'll discover a favorite island to visit in detail during a future land tour. :)

We may even try to extend our 1st trip with pre-cruise and/or post-cruise days. Lots of researching to be done yet.
