I collect them as well. I have them all except the first cruise I went on. “Commodore Enchanted Isle”. Did not buy them all on board because I started collecting them on cruise number three. Had to get the others on E-Bay. I don’t even think they made them for Commodore.

I've been collecting the models too. Like rsjc, I'm missing a couple of the early cruise ships that probably didn't even have models at that time.

If any one needs a model of RCCL's Splendour of the Seas or Princess's Coral Princess, I have one of each that I would sell for the original purchase price.

All the models I have are about 8 to 10 inches. My mother-in-law bought one while on the Dawn Princess and it was very small. Around 5 to 6 inches. I hope Princess isn’t scaling them down because I’m going on the Grand in March.

My husband also collects these models from each of our cruises. He is in need of a Carnival Jubilee. We neglected to purchase it on our honeymoon 15 years ago. Anyone have one they'd be willing to sell?

I have checked ebay and no luck so far.

Thanks

Beth

Don't know if it's showing up in my signature, but the first ship I ever sailed on (back as a child in the 1960s) was the S.S. France (which was sold when the French Line closed in 1979 and subsequently became the Norway of the Norwegian Line, before going out of service in 2003 after a boiler room explosion; the ship is now laid up in Bremerhaven, Germany, future fate unclear).

I always wanted a model of the France, but couldn't find one until last year, when Glencoe models introduced a big, hugely detailed 1:450 scale plastic model kit of the ship (picture of kit attached). I've started working on it, and it's going to be a beautiful 22 inch long exhibit of wonderful memories when I'm done. Now if only some firm would produce a model of the Michelangelo....

Of course, after I find and start working on the France kit, look what turns up on eBay:

Albeit the Glencoe version I have is bigger and more detailed. Whatever, moral of story is, whatever cruise ship model you're looking for, check eBay from time to time. You never know what will show up there....

You can find models of cruise ships in this site:

www.scherbakshipmodels.com

They are larger ( 10-15") and more expencive - $235-335, but much better made full hull models in cases .

Nice models, albeit limited selection (understandable, demand for replicas of vintage liners in particular is a niche market to say the least).

Selection of cruise ship models in this series will grow fast. Series was started only last year! Queen Mary 2, Carnival Destiny, Voyager of the Seas models were made ! Models of Amsterdam and Carnival Conquest coming very soon. Radiance of the Seas and Millennium are under construction. Queen Elizabeth 2, Grand Princess and many more are on schedule... . Keep visiting this site for updates :www.scherbakshipmodels.com

I saw a 1/1250 Carnival Pride in our local hobby store last week in Manchester CT. It goes for $48 and had very nice detail. I did not buy t as I build my own. However, I was impressed. "Dragon Models" is the manufacturer.

Also-Alnavco.com will get you to a site that offers assorted models at 1/1250 scale in the $100 range for a waterline model.

Revell Germany wil be soon releasing a 1/400 scale QM2 in the US for $100.

E mail me at Norwaycolt@AOL.com if you have further questions.

My husband and I went on our first cruise last year on the Grandeur of the Seas sadly he did not get a model of that cruise ship can anyone tell me where I can get a model of that ship? I called RC and they gave me an 800 number for the company that sells them on the ship but they said the only place to buy them is on the ship you are on.

Hi Everyone!

Looks like we're all in the same boat!!!!LOL:p Went on the Monarch of the Seas in 1993 and neglected to get model of the ship. No luck on e-bay but would be willing to pay someone going on the Monarch to buy one for me.

If anyone has one to sell or could buy me one, please e-mail me at

bjk1105@aol.com. Thanks for your help!

just got back from a cruise on the grand princess and guess what!!!!!! the gift shop was out of the ship models..... I was about to blow a gasket... their shippment from the service that stocks the gift shops did not make it on the ship. So I have no Grand Princess model. They would not work with me in any way. would not send me one or nothing. just a sorry, maybe next time. so if any of you go on the grand I would pay someone to get it and ship it to me....

While on the ship in 2003, we totally forgot to buy the model. Have posted requests to see if someone can pick up for me, but so far no takers. Sad part is they're relocating her out of the line later this year. :(
