Akureyri - dock close to town center

We're sailing to Iceland/Norway on Caribbean Princess in September. Does anyone know how far the ship docks from town center in Akureyri? We're interested in going to the Botanical Garden which is a 10-15 minute walk from the town center.

Ship is at the dock. Follow the blue dotted line to walk in to town toward the white church on the hill. Go up the steps (only about 100 of them!!) ,pause for a breather at the top, then follow the path to the left side of the church, then follow the road to the Gardens. I would allow 30 mins for the whole walk...those steps are steep!... and of course, you can pop into the church for a look round.

Spend some money and go on the longest ship tour of the Lake Myvatn area. This is an incredible region with a wide variety of sites.
