We will be there this coming March and want to go to beach for the day. How much are the taxi,,how far are the beaches and which ones to go to ? Any help will be great.

Fishbonz: From what I've read in earlier posts, there is a large sign off the pier that can point you in the direction of the ferry to the beaches. Some posts said $10USD/pp, others mention 10 Euros/pp. I recall others saying that the ferry accepts both currencies. So will taxi drivers, but they will convert USD to Euros at a very favorable exchange rate for themselves so that the tourist suffers and the cabbie gets extra. Plus, posters have said that cabs to the beach are more expensive than the ferry.

I will be in Martinique for the 1st time this December and then for a 2nd time in late January. I can report personal experience then, instead of re-hashing others' postings.
