It says we will get into the Port of Galveston at 8 a.m. and we will be flying out of Hobby airport. What is the very earliest I should consider booking a flight home?

1:00 PM. Even if you dock at 8, you still have to wait for customs to clear the ship, priority passengers to leave, etc. Tack onto that the drive time to get to Hobby, checking bags, security, etc.

IF all things go well.

Off the ship by 9AM

Clear Customs and Immigrations by 9:30

In a cab or car service and on the road by 9:45

At the airport by 10:45

Checked in and luggage checked by 11:00

Through security by 11:30,,,,

I'd say noon

What's the backup plan for fog delaying the ship getting into Galveston a day later?

What are the airlines fees to change your flights. Can you even get seats on next flight?

We just got off the Breeze yesterday and it was the worst debarkation we have encountered. We were fine with being one of the last off the ship, 10:30, but then we got to wait in line for 2 hours for customs. I talked to a few local people and they said it was the worst they had ever seen. The thing is, there really did not seem to be a reason. We lucked out because our flight was at 5:45 but there were people asking to cut the custom line because they were going to miss flights.

I say the later the better!

Personally, I wouldn't be comfortable with anything before 2, but I'm a bit of a worrier. I would rather spend an hour or two eating lunch at the airport than miss my flight. We had a 3pm flight when we sailed last April 4. We were at the airport at about 12, but we didn't rush getting off the ship, either.
