Miami port to airport

hi, I am new here and this is all new to me. What is the best way to get from the Miami port to he airport for six adults. Taxi? Uber? Lyft? Do I need to make prior reservations? Thanks for any tips!

Taxi between MIA & POM is a flat rate fare (ignore the meter) of $27+tip -- two taxis should handle all 6 plus bags (you might need one SUV/mini-van cab if anyone in your group packs like my wife :rolleyes:).

Two Ubers, or maybe one UberX and one UberXL will make the same trip for less -- UberX from MIA to POM will be under $20.

The trip between MIA & POM takes about 15+ min. Have a great cruise! :)

Also, this is for the port of Miami to the airport. Are there taxis and ubers at the port?

Taxis are available at the Port of Miami. If there are a number of ships in that morning there could be some waiting. Not sure about Uber.

You cannot reserved UBER in advance.

You would want to call them after you claim your luggage.

Their price will be close to half of a taxi.

Taxis do charge one set rate which I think is $28.00 per taxi before tip.

I would go with UBER and should you not be able to get one then use the Taxi as your backup plan.

In January we called Uber after exiting the terminal. We were picked up in less than 10 minutes.

After that it is pretty intuitive. The app knows where you are, so you enter where you want to go, number of passengers, type of vehicle, etc.

The app will estimate cost and time of arrival for your car.

When you arrive at your destination, you get out, retrieve your bags and you are done. No money changes hands unless you want to give a small tip. The app will bill your CC.
