A bit random but does Seabourn still do this? Remember this quite a while back but not seen or heard anything about it for quite a while. Thought it was great when we experienced it out in the blue yonder under a limitless sky

we had a "movie under the stars" , while sailing towards Devils Island......Papillion!! BUT that was 8 years ago. There are no longer any deck BBQ's either....well not the ones they used to have. Sometimes at lunch time they fire up a grill, but all the things we loved are disappearing.

Actually "The Lady in The Van" - brilliant comedy by Alan Bennett starring the incomparable Dame Maggie Smith - whom most American viewers will be aware of as the remarkable Dowager Lady Grantham. Hope you saw it and hope you enjoyed.

Stamfordian, we were quite fortunate to see Dame Maggie perform this wonderful, based on true events, play in London some years ago. And no, we have never encountered a movie under the stars on our sailings.

We did indeed, and enjoyed it very much. We are HUGE fans of both Dame Maggie Smith and Alan Bennett. We were also lucky enough to see Dame Maggie perform live in Allan Bennett's 'Love among the Lentils', one of his Monologue 'Talking Head' series.

Hope you and Jan are both well. We could do with you on our Trivia team.

The last one we had was on the Pride in 2010 doing Hong Kong to Singapore. Michael Jackson's This is it! Not big fans so went to check it out for the first 1/2hr and ended up staying. Very enjoyable.

Fabulous night under the stars, although there were only two of us watching with the odd passerby stopping for a chat while we lounged with our popcorn. A great night, but started around 9pm so a bit late by the time it ended.

Nick the CD thanked us for attending. He said they were usually a bit hit and miss in terms of attendance.
