St Andrews Golf from Voyager

We are on Voyager in mid August. We stop for a day in Edinburgh and have booked a round of golf at St Andrews. Does anyone know the best (fastest/cheapest) way to get from the ship to the course. A private driver is $799 and a taxi is 130 GBP each way. :confused:

Hi Miami Ham,

It's quite a distance from Edinburgh to St. Andrews. We used to live outside St. Andrews some years ago. I feel the taxi fare sounds pretty reasonable, I would have a check at a few companies, and also I would post this question on the UK forums on CC as there a lot of good bits of advice there too.

You will love the old course at St Andrews and the town itself. Hope you get sorted with a good reliable company. Enjoy, Jean.

The taxi fare seems a bargain, especially with the present favorable exchange rate of GBP to USD since Brexit. Do NOT use Travelex in the US to buy GBP--mark-up is outrageous. Check with your bank or broker or use a credit card that does not charge a conversion rate.

PS:I am SOOO jealous!
