Royal Caribbean Cabin Information Compilation -NO CABIN QUESTIONS POSTED HERE PLEASE!

Recommended Posts

Ship - Grandeur

Deck - 3

Stateroom # - 3501

Stateroom Category – N (inside)

Starboard or Port Side -Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? NO. This and the stateroom next to it is right below the musicians locker room. You'll here them practicing with their instruments in the afternoon and early evening. Late at night, after the shows, they apparently put things away sliding things on the floor. Noisy enough to wake you till they all finish.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Toilet flooded three nights fixed three times. Good luck

Any other comments? - Stay away from this area.

Ship - Anthem

Deck - 6

Stateroom # -6688

Stateroom Category –DO

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – NO!! (see below)

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - yes

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Very little ocean view, but for us, not a problem

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - oversized - one of the larger ones on the side of a bumpout Could easily stretch out with lounger and footstool, with room to spare.

Was wind a problem? - Due to the lower deck, sea spray was an issue in rougher weather. Glass was crusted with salt regularly. They power washed it every few days, but we didn't always get a warning when they were going to do it (from the deck below) Got caught resting out there when the spray came cascading over the top of the railing. Surprise shower!

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - no

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Yes. Don't know the reason, but the sound of the above cabin's toilet was extremely evident in our cabin. From early, early in the AM, we could hear LOUD flushing every 5 - 10 minutes or so - almost as loud as our own toilet. Woke me up at 5:30 every morning. Being on the bottom passenger deck, perhaps there is a collection area behind this room where the sewage from all the rooms above is collected and then "re-flushed" to another central point - I don't know, but it's the only reason I could come up with. It was constant, especially in the mornings and evenings, right after port hours or whenever folks would be most likely to do the bathroom thing.

Any other comments? - This room is slightly aft and one deck above the smoking area. We thought smoke would be a problem, but it wasn't. However, smokers congregated there at all hours and conversations were loud and audible out there. Balcony use was not pleasant. There was enough visible privacy, but not from the noise of the people (who shortly got to know each other pretty well) as they got together to get their fix, starting at 6 AM well into the night. There is also a door directly under the room that slams every time a smoker or anyone else went out or in. That was also quite often, as it was also the end of the walking part of that deck. AVOID THIS ROOM!

Ship - Radiance of the Seas

Deck - 7

Stateroom # - 7654

Stateroom Category – E1

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very quiet.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – This is a balcony stateroom that is towards the aft of the ship. It has a small window washing platform just in front, when you look down from the balcony railing, but it didn't cause us any issues.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized balcony, by quite a bit. See photos below.

Was wind a problem? - No.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The ship is showing her age and they were working on sealing the balcony railings while we were there and they didn't get to ours, so the railings weren't in the best shape (see second photo), but other than that it was a great cabin. I would book it again.

Any other comments? - While it didn't bother me, the movement did bother my mom since we were towards the back of the ship. Might be something to consider if you're prone to motion sickness.

Ship - Empress of the Seas

Deck - 8

Stateroom # - 8686

Stateroom Category – JS

Starboard or Port Side - Aft

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes, quiet.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – There was a very nice balcony view. No obstruction. Being Aft...you could see from one side of the ship to the other very well.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - The balcony was the normal size in depth. It was longer than usual. It could easily hold a lounger, two chairs and a large table. There was lots of room left over.

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No, but see the comments below.

Any other comments? - Well....this is NOT a typical JS cabin. The bed pretty much takes up the width of the room. There is no mini-fridge, no couch, no real desk and certainly no upholstered chair with an ottoman. There are two small, little desks at which a plain, chair sits. One desk has two drawers in it for clothes (I presume) And that's it for drawers. There are two very small wardrobes each holding about 7 hangers...then it's full. I had to bring a chair in from the balcony to sit on because the provided chair was just too uncomfortable.

Don't put the chair at the little desk just outside the bathroom door because you won't be able to open the bathroom door.

I was quite disappointed that Royal called this room a JS. There are JS on Deck 9. I went to have a look at them....and they are more in line with a JS and its amenities.

Ship - Serenade of the Seas

Deck - 8

Stateroom # - 8170

Stateroom Category – D1

Starboard or Port Side - Aft slightly port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very quiet. Almost nobody walks by. However the water wake make some noise.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Aft cabin with wide expansive view. No obstructions.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Very large balcony: 2 chairs, 2 tables, and 2 loungers. Slight overhang, but plenty of sun.

Was wind a problem? - No.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Was an aft, but no soot problem.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - See below.

Any other comments? - If you have trouble walking, this might be a bit far from the elevator, but was perfectly OK for us. Liked the quiet. Cabin has a curtain that you can draw to separate the bed from the TV area. Bed by the balcony. No spanking new, but very comfortable. Nice loveseat. Plenty of storage room and hangers.

Ship: Allure of the Seas

Deck: 10

Stateroom #: 10728

Category: D6 Superior Ocean View Balcony

Port or Starboard: Starboard

Area of Ship: Aft

Balcony seemed to be standard size which was very nice. Wish the chairs reclined.

Not windy particularly so that wasn't an issue.

Connecting: No

Sailing Date: February 2017

Comments: Bed was by the sliding glass door. Was quite quiet as it was the last cabin before the Aqua suite, so it was quite a walk to the elevators (we didn't mind, just an observation).

Nice cabin, but we prefer the cabins on Anthem and Quantum as they are a bit larger.

How does one search this thread for a particular cabin type/deck/ship? The OP mentions posting a pdf but I doesn't say where.

Go to https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1P02jhe9iw-mXyk3L9xhEJ_8lv_j4LHI6Qt0TMYy_WP8/edit?pli=1#gid=109586028 to open the spreadsheet. The compilation is in the "RCI Cabin Compilation" tab and the directions for searching are in the tab "Managing Data".

Ship - Brilliance of the Seas

Deck - 8

Stateroom # - 8026

Stateroom Category – E1

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – View was fine

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? - no

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -

Any specific problems with this cabin? - It was small, but pretty sure that was because of the incredible amount of storage space. There was a strong smell of sewage in our bathroom, which our steward did his best to mask, the whole cruise. It was a fully sold

out cruise, so we knew moving was not an option. To Royal's credit, we were contacted and given compensation for this issue.

Ship - Harmony of the Seas (HOS)

Deck - 7

Stateroom # - 7534

Stateroom Category – D8, stateroom with balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – No hallway traffic noises. However, could easily hear the people in the connecting room.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Normal balcony view, no obstructions

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal size. Had 2 chairs, 2 footstools, small table. Found it comfortable for use by 2 people.

Was wind a problem? - The weather was pretty windy on our trip, and at night it got pretty windy on the balcony

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No! Loved it. Would book it again. Felt the layout and size were great, and loved that the couch was closest to the balcony.

Any other comments? - Despite being able to hear the neighbors, we really like it. However, the noise factor would have been annoying if there was a crying baby or loud talker next door. The location was fairly close to the stairs. Despite slightly rough seas, we did not feel any ship movement in our room.

Quiet Stateroom? - Yes, very quiet.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – This balcony has a perfect view of the ocean, as the cabin is located right in the middle, half way down the hallway. We didn't want a view of the sports courts.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No.

Special thanks to Mysticks1 on the Celebrity Cruises forum for this idea. I would like to begin to assemble one for Royal Caribbean.

To the moderators, I would appreciate if we could make this a "sticky" at the top of the page for all to see.

Every week or two I will post a PDF for all the ships and cabin information compiled here.

Please, refrain from posting cabin questions here so this can purely be an informative thread, especially for those that are first time cruisers or seasoned cruisers looking for a great cabin.

The template is as follows:

Ship -Rhapsody

Deck - 7

Stateroom # - 7102

Stateroom Category – Royal Family Suite

Starboard or Port Side -

Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) –

Yes

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -

No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – no obstructions. Located on the side mid-ship

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? -

VERY undersized, smaller than average size balcony for a regular balcony class cabin

Was wind a problem? -

No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -

Any specific problems with this cabin? -master bath has a low ceiling, but hallway bath ok. Shower curtain did not cling. Comes with coffee pot and tea kettle, however it does not come with an outlet to plug them into. You can move the tray that the kettle is attached to to the hall vanity, but then you lose that area to do anything else .

Any other comments? -

We used the walk-in closet as a dressing area. It worked out well. Living room comfortably fits 8 people (impromptu wine and cheese party)

Ship - Freedom

Deck - 10

Stateroom # - 1274

Stateroom Category – GS

Starboard or Port Side - (Starboard Mid-Ship)

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) Noisy every morning between 1am and 4:30am

Cabin is directly below towel station area on Deck11

Royal really needs to rethink when these areas are cleaned to stop waking guests on deck 10.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - YES

Very noisy next door! Say no more

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – no obstructions, excellent views, Sun-trap.

Slight overhang and you are 3 cabins away from canterlever tub.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - would say normal, wicker furniture, 2 chairs with larger table, 2 chaise lounges and small table.

Was wind a problem? - NO

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Noise from above which is why we would not stay in this cabin again. Noisy next door, but above is the constant issue.

Other than that no issues to report.

3 cabins away from the canterlever tub.

Any other comments? - Royal really needs to address cleaning times on deck 11 as to not wake guests between 1am through 5am every night.

Worst sleep I have had on a ship in 15years, need a vacation to recharge.

Deck - 6

Stateroom # - 6274

Stateroom Category – Superior Oceanview with Balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Amazingly quiet. Just around the corner from aft elevators and across the hall from linen storage/work area for room attendants.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Unobstructed view. Lifeboats located on the deck below but not directly beneath cabin.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - normal

Was wind a problem? -not at all

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - no

Any specific problems with this cabin? -none

Any other comments? - The location is perfect. Just around the corner from the aft elevators and the Boardwalk. Our seating in the main dining room was on the 5th floor at Silk so that was just down one flight of steps. The promenade was also on the 5th so it was convenient to that as well. Around the corner from the elevators was the schooner bar and that became our favorite place for people watching. Muster Station for this cabin was in the Aqua Theater. Beds were beside the balcony with sofa by the closet.
