Trixie21 Posted February 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2017 Ok so I haven't tried it myself but we were on chops on harmony last year and my sister-in-law (who always eats chicken in restaurants) had it and declared it the nicest dish she had ever tasted. She still talks about it. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

bouhunter Posted February 24, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2017 The short rib was pretty good on Jewel a couple weeks ago.
krewzin Posted February 24, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 24, 2017 While the wife loves a filet, I don't eat red meat so have had the chicken a couple of times - it was quite good.
txcowboy10 Posted February 24, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 24, 2017 Have eaten the short rib a few times..it's pretty good...Think of pot roast in a wine reduction sauce over mashed potatoes....:). But it's not made fresh in the galley...prepackaged product and heated/steamed up before serving. Their 9 ounce filet is much better!
critterchick Posted February 24, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 24, 2017 I enjoyed the short ribs on Oasis. Our waiter tried to talk three of us out of ordering it, but we did it anyway, and we all enjoyed it.
pudy68 Posted February 25, 2017 #8 Share Posted February 25, 2017 So if my DH wants a 12 oz steak, can he order a double portion? Are the side dishes served family style?

matj2000 Posted February 25, 2017 #10 Share Posted February 25, 2017 It was one thing when Chops was around $20 or so. Now it looks like a pretty weak menu @ $49 per person. I thought it was always just a "nominal fee" for the pay restaurants. Morton's, Flemings, Kirby's, etc are larger size portions for less money than that. Those places are much nicer... nanfromatlanta Posted February 25, 2017 #12 Share Posted February 25, 2017 (edited) Don't forget that you can order as many of the soups, salads, sides, starters, etc.you want at no extra cost. It is an extra cost only for an additional entree'. Here is the link for the entire Chops menu: http://media.royalcaribbean.com/content/shared_assets/pdf/menus/chops.pdf Edited February 25, 2017 by nanfromatlanta
The Grumpus Posted February 25, 2017 #13 Share Posted February 25, 2017 I've never ordered anything but either the grilled filet or one of the big specialty steaks, i.e. porterhouse. Yummy! I'm like you, I don't think I would ever waste $42/pp+/- on the chicken.

The Grumpus Posted February 25, 2017 #18 Share Posted February 25, 2017 And the porterhouse will cost you $19 over and above the base fee now.:eek:I know, it's an expensive night there nowadays, I jumped all over that 20%-off Chops on my next cruise. Overall though, I still like going to Chops more than Chef's Table or 150CP, so I look at is as kind of comparable to them. And if I do get the porterhouse, I usually will skip eating at 150CP or Chef's Table and maybe order one of the Chop's filets in the MDR instead.
