Ok so I haven't tried it myself but we were on chops on harmony last year and my sister-in-law (who always eats chicken in restaurants) had it and declared it the nicest dish she had ever tasted. She still talks about it.

Have eaten the short rib a few times..it's pretty good...Think of pot roast in a wine reduction sauce over mashed potatoes....:). But it's not made fresh in the galley...prepackaged product and heated/steamed up before serving. Their 9 ounce filet is much better!

It was one thing when Chops was around $20 or so.

Now it looks like a pretty weak menu @ $49 per person.

I thought it was always just a "nominal fee" for the pay restaurants.

Morton's, Flemings, Kirby's, etc are larger size portions for less money than that.

Those places are much nicer...

Don't forget that you can order as many of the soups, salads, sides, starters, etc.you want at no extra cost. It is an extra cost only for an additional entree'.

Here is the link for the entire Chops menu: http://media.royalcaribbean.com/content/shared_assets/pdf/menus/chops.pdf

I've never ordered anything but either the grilled filet or one of the big specialty steaks, i.e. porterhouse. Yummy!

I'm like you, I don't think I would ever waste $42/pp+/- on the chicken.

And the porterhouse will cost you $19 over and above the base fee now.

I know, it's an expensive night there nowadays, I jumped all over that 20%-off Chops on my next cruise. Overall though, I still like going to Chops more than Chef's Table or 150CP, so I look at is as kind of comparable to them. And if I do get the porterhouse, I usually will skip eating at 150CP or Chef's Table and maybe order one of the Chop's filets in the MDR instead.
