Bon Voyage Experience (BVE) for 2015

I just got off the phone with Princess (Oct 24,2014) to find out about BVE for January 2015. Schedule is still not out. I was instructed to call back in the next few weeks. I asked if I could be connected with the BVE dept directly to possibly be put on a mailing list and was told could not connect me unless I has a reservation. :confused: I tried to explain to the rep on the phone how could I invite someone to do the BVE if it is not avail? And what if I wait one day too many to call back???? He assured me that 50 people would not call and that there is always availability. I don't know that I believe **always**, but the people that I would like to invite if interested would have to drive several hours to get to the port. It's not like they live in town or anything like that.

Anyway, as soon as anyone hears the list for the new year is available can you please let me know?

You can always call back and not tell the person anything except that you need to speak with the BVE people. I've found that it sometimes helps with Princess if you don't give them any extra information in advance...

The BVE is a great program, but Princess really needs to get their act togeher on this.

I was recently on a cruise on the Star Princess. I called three times to prior to the cruise to ask if there was going to be a BVE, since I wanted friends to see the ship. Each time I was told "no."

When I arrived at the dock I see a sign on the door directing BVE's to enter. A couple that I met on board had their family do the BVE, and there will only about 12 people signed up.

Additionally, I still don't understand why Princess can't just publish a list of dates when the BVEs will be held. I called earlier in the year and the Princess staff member read me off a long list of dates for BVEs in San Francisco, which I had to write down.

Great program..... but needs to be better organized!

I'm trying to book one for the Island Feb 4. We were told it was available, but not bookable until 120 days out. When we tried to book it then, we were told it was not available and that whoever (Jamie) had told us that was mistaken. MY TA was pretty upset about the way it was handled. The second rep she talked to was pretty rude (she had us on speaker).

I just want to know if it exists on my cruise or not. :confused:

Have done BVE out of SF a few times. The last time, the BVE for the cruise we were booked on was not announced until way late in the year. I called serval times. When it finally opened I booked it, then my family could not make it and they would not allow us to check early without our guest which I was not happy about.

Any rate do agree, Princess could do a better job on this all around.

Where do you see the list? The site I had bookmarked for last years list - One Source Travel Agent Center - doesn't work for me. Is that the site you are looking at and I'm just blocked out now?

Those would be the two leaving from FLL. We're leaving from LA. We wanted to take DD and GS. Guess we'll just go get a nice brunch instead.

OneSource is Princess's site for travel agents, at book.princess.com. If it's up there, it should be available to Princess's reps, also. I'd try pasting the whole thing here, but it's huge.

Checked into it in spring of this year, there has never been a BVE at a Non US port. Keep waiting and hoping for one here.

Did the equivilent of one on HAL here (Vancouver) in September.

We just booked our BVE for the person driving us. I called Princess personally and the lady I talked to was so ditzy it scared me. I told her I was going on a cruise in February, she proceeded to tell me that the BVE was unavailable and it asked why, she told me it has already passed, she put it was 2014 and laughed. Then she told me I was too far out and to call back I was at 140 days. I called back at 120 days out and got a man he was so rude since I have a travel agent he couldn't help me nor answer any of my questions. So went to my agent a few weeks later, and she must have gotten the same man "Steve" I think. He said she couldn't book it and it was only available for people who booked directly with princess. She has never heard of this before. She hung up and called back and got to the nicest lady ,she got everything all taken care of in less than 10 minutes. We sail February 14th on Crown. Some people just don't know and rather then feel incompetent they make something up, it seems.

Well, dang. No BVE on my next cruise. We were going to take my DD and GS to thank them for driving us to the port. All the Island ones are in FLL. Why not LA? :confused:

Sounds like "HUCA" (Hang Up and Call Again) is alive and well as a method for dealing with Princess.

It is too bad that this great program, which should be simple for people to sign up for, and which could be a great marketing tool for Princess, seems to be so difficult for them to administer.
