That's funny, I got the e-mail earlier and was at work, so I ignored it.

Pretty BIZZARE how they just show up randomly.

Just FYI, I got my order of the $500 cards a couple of days ago, and one of them had no value. I called and am now waiting for a resolution. I'll let you all know how it turns out. Make sure you check the balance on the cards when you get them....

I have run up on them at all times. I admit I wasn't looking at all tonight. I just happened to see this thread.

Yes definitely check your balances. All of mine are good thankfully, but you're not the first person I've seen with a problem lately. Can't imagine what's up with that.

I will be sure and let you know. If the initial call to their CS representative is an example of how they do business, I'm very optimistic. One of the most pleasant calls I've ever had to discuss a problem.....

I just figure that if something can go wrong, it will, so I check them all as I get them. I'm sure there are mistakes that happen with the volume they must process.

Thanks for the suggestion. I got a $500 one a few weeks back and didn't even think to check the balance! I will do that in the morning.

I was able to get five of the $100 gc's tonight. I only had 5300 Pts or I would have tried to get moter. The price of our cruise has been going up up up so I think I have seen the last of our price drops.

Not sure of you are a AARP member but members get double the points, also there is a limit of 5 cards ($500) per order per day.........

Where do you check the balance. On the carnival site you need a PIN number. I just got my cards yesterday and would like to make sure they are all loaded correctly.

You can either scratch the grey cover in the corner off the PIN number in the corner opposite the card number, or if you have a cruise booked you can click the "make a payment" button and it will take you to the payment page.

On the payment page there is an option directly above the credit card information area to "Pay With Gift Card". If you click on the "Pay With Gift Card" button you can enter the card number and check your balance.

I googled "Carnival gift card balance" and it brought up the link to check the balance. The $500 I received this week was just fine! Hoping to get a couple more in the future! (I would have posted the link, but didn't think cruise critic would allow the links!)

Thanks to everyone on this thread. I had subscribed to this thread earlier this week and got the notiftication on Thursday and bought 5 x $100 GCs from AARP.

I called on Friday to "verify" my order in hopes to expedite it, because I have a casino offer which expires 10/15 and I need to book by then. It gives me the option to just pay a deposit of $200, but requires full payment by 10/19, so I'm hoping these come in by then. The total order is about $650 so I may have to book w/ a deposit just to buy a few more days, if these don't come in by then...

The cruise is for December and I don't want to miss out on the pretty good deal that the casino offer has given me. If anybody has any tips for my situation, it would be much appreciated! I know a lot of people on this forum have years of Carnival experience and I'd love to know if there is a way to "save" the casino deal until my GCs come in.

By the way, I've read a bunch of threads but also wanted to confirm, there should be no issue with me trying to apply 5 $100 GCs and paying the remainder with CC, right? Even if I decide to pay the deposit via CC in order to buy a few extra days and then pay the remainder with GCs?

PS this is my second Carnival cruise :)

I cruised May 2014 and played about $100 worth of blackjack and another $20-30 worth of slots. The offer was unexpected but greatly welcomed! I am not sure how long I have had the offer, but it expires on 10/15 and I started looking into booking another cruise about 2 weeks ago.

No issues on paying with a mixture of gift cards and CC's, I paid off our cruise with gift cards. When I ordered the cards, I purchase $300 and I have always received them in 8 or less days, YMMV.........Congrads on finding this thread, 10% is a great savings!

I appreciate that. I'll be keeping an eye out for them. I did read that people who have ordered $500 or more have waited > 10 days, but keeping my fingers crossed.

Cheers! :)

I have been checking, but there is no update on the status.

On the phone call I let the rep know I was in a bit of a rush and requested they expedited and even offered to pay for faster shipping, but the rep only confirmed that my order was verified and she noted it with an expedited request. I will give this thread an update when I find out more. We'll see if her noting my account actually changes anything!

The ones they snail mail say mailed on a Friday, but they are postmarked on Monday. Last time I ordered on a Tuesday, they said mailed on Friday but was postmarked on Monday and I got them on Friday. So in total it was my longest wait on the $100 cards at 11 days. The envelope was not sealed shut and the card could have fallen out.

Just an update from my 5 x $100 order from 10/1. I called again this morning and sort of (nicely) pushed the AARP rep to get me an update. I did this because I got off the phone with Carnival and they said I would be out of luck if I don't book my Casino offer by 10/15 (expiration date of the offer).

I'm thankful the rep was so kind as he mentioned he instant messaged someone at the warehouse directly in order to manually check my status. I just checked and it has shipped, but lists no tracking #. I checked UPS My Choice and see that it is ready to ship and will arrive on Monday, 10/12. A decent time buffer just in case things go south until the expiration date on 10/15!

I'm looking into changing delivery to a UPS store once the package gets moving, since it requires a signature and I won't be home. I have the option to Authorize Signature, but that hasn't worked for me in the past and I'd rather pick up from the UPS Store a mile away. FYI it is shipping from Streetsboro, OH.

Thanks everyone and I hope to join you all again in this thread in the future :)
