Cafe Promenade, Sorrento's, Park Cafe, Solarium Cafe (breakfast and lunch), Johnny Rockets (breakfast), Wipeout Cafe, Boardwalk Dog House, Vitality Cafe.

And if I'm not mistaken, room service is still complimentary, unless it's late night and they add the small surcharge.

We were on Jewel last week (our first cruise) and room service was not free ever. There was a $3.95 service charge anytime you used it. Not sure if this is fleet wide or just on some ships, however. We never used it cause we were okay walking a bit to get food.

That's strange, as the website clearly states for the Jewel that it is still free during the day:

Room service

Morning, noon, night, whenever you like – order up room service 24/7. Enjoy breakfast in bed, cheesecake on your balcony, or a delicious dinner right in the comfort of your stateroom. Complimentary except between midnight and 5 a.m., when a $3.95 service charge applies.

Unless it was a misprint, it did say orders from room service had $3.95 service charge, and then the sentence ended. There was a separate note about only light snacks after 10pm I believe.

Anther couple we hung out with said they were charged the fee for a plate of fries before dinner, which reinforced it and made is not bother with it, even though we had been looking forward to breakfast on our balcony.

* Park Cafe (located in Central Park. At breakfast has a bagel bar, egg sandwiches, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, etc. At lunch has a salad bar, roast beef sandwich, panini’s, quesadilla’s, wraps, etc. This is one of our favorite lunch spots.

* Wipeout Cafe: back of ship near the sports court. At breakfast has a nice small buffet of pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, etc. It also has a made to order omelette station that makes great omelettes (and other eggs). At lunch the buffet is set up with hamburgers, hot dogs, wraps, nachos, etc (a few items may change during the week).

* Johnny Rockets: made to order breakfast daily.

* Solarium: at breakfast this has healthier food choices. Eggs, fruit, granola, oatmeal, turkey bacon and sausage, muffins, etc. Lunch also has healthier food and a salad bar.

* Sorento’s Pizza: Has a selection of 2-3 pre-made pizzas that differ day to day. Also has a “make your own” pizza bar where you can choose ingredients and have them make a pizza for you. If you don’t see an ingredient, ask if they have it in back. For example, some days they may not have sausage at the make your own bar, but can still add it for you.

* Promenade Cafe: this has some simple sandwiches and a selection of desserts. Good place to stop by for a quick snack.

* Boardwalk Donuts: this is a “self-serve” cabinet with donuts located across from Boardwalk Dogs.

Do you happen to know if there are trays in Park Cafe, that my husband could grab coffee & pastries in the morning?

There is complimentary dining/food options in every neighborhood basically. It's pretty obvious which will have extra charges and which ones are complimentary - you'll see. You won't feel like you are nickel and dimed, it's done well and there is a TON of complimentary options/food available all over.

  • 4 weeks later...

Don't forget the MDR-it's not just for dinner. I think it's only open on sea days but it's worth adding to the list. We were on Oasis in December and ate some place different every day for free.

The new room service policy is disappointing :(
