Considering Oceania.

I don't know all of your answers. I love Trivia, but on Marina and Riviera we don't do that because GENERALLY it is in a theatre setting. We prefer tables. So sometimes if they have Trivia in Martinis, it is O.K. I would guess that Bingo is good no matter where. Have a good time.

Thinking of Oceania for our next cruise. Do the ships have bingo, live dealer poker games, trivia games? What are your favorite activities on board. Thanks for your input.

Yes to everything except the Poker which is a maybe at best. The Casino's on Oceania are small and generally poorly patronized.

That said, if you prefer an activities driven experience, O probably isn't the cruise line for you.

The big draw is the fabulous food.

I'm with you on that. We've only once formed a team on the O ships and even at that after a few games attended out of a sense of obligation. It's not that we didn't enjoy our teammate but the room is not conducive to it. A shame as we much enjoyed trivia up to that first O ship cruise.

The O ship's theatre Lounge seating does not have the social aspect as does the Lounge on the R ships. That is a lot of fun. Even Martini's on the O ships is less social. Nicely broken up into semi-private areas which is great for conversation with those at your table but not so much for meeting new people or a game. Still better than the O ship Lounge but the R-ship Lounge is the very best at sea for such things. Horizons would be best perhaps on the O ships though I've not yet had the pleasure.

Horizons is good for trivia, I've been there quite a few times in the evening, but the regular team trivia time conflicts with afternoon tea. And we know which one is more important.

I agree with what others have said pretty much 100%, How do you like that we all have the same opinion lol! I would just add in the casino they literally have one table for poker. It is called something else, but it's a essentially a 3 card poker game. THere are four tables total on Marina...three are black jack and one is called a weird name but really plays like 3 card poker with some lesser odds. they also have one roulette table and one craps table as well as the normal slew of one armed bandits. They do have texas hold em on a sea day, as well as bingo on a sea day too. I didn't go to team trivia as Afternoon Tea on Marina was a highlight, but I did go to the one in the evening in Horizons which I would rank as good as other lines.

Cruise on Oceania because 1) you want great food options; 2) you like the itinerary and the long days in port; 3) you want a smaller ship with good service, more space per passenger, and comfortable and luxurious surroundings. There are other very good reasons for cruising on Oceania. But not on the list is its variety of on board activities.

We loved our day at sea because it was so relaxing and a welcomed break from our break-neck paced sightseeing we had been doing in all of the fantastic ports of call. The absence of an overwhelming list of activities like you might find on larger ships or cruise lines aimed more at a family driven market had zero impact on the level to which we enjoyed our experience. But if you want a ship-centric activities cruise experience, maybe other lines are a better option.

Comments from Coco Putty are right-on...we are multiple O cruisers and enjoy all it has to offer...that being said, everyone has their own interests...best advise is to do your homework and if O becomes your cruise of choice, you will enjoy thoroughly. :)

Oceania is a marvelous cruise line for beautiful ships and marvelous food. The variety of eateries provides so much choice and the food is beautifully prepared and presented. Foodies like us really appreciate the fine food.

Trivia and bingo are very popular and fun. The libraries are wonderful.

Many Oceania itineraries are port intensive which limits the scheduling of a lot of activities.

bring some books and videos the casino is dead and there is little entertainment on board.....very small ships = less entertainment....pe prepared...dont say I did not warn you.

You do realize that the sedate atmosphere is what many Oceania regulars enjoy?

We're on Riveria right now and today is a sea day. Just checked in the Currents newsletter and there is a blackjack tournament, a slot tournament and a Texas Holdem tournament. Also, a couple of trivia games and bridge too. It is a small casino but they do have slot machines, 3 black jack tables, a 3 card poker table, a roulette table and a craps table. Most people seem to play blackjack.

+1

It's like booking a small B&B in the country and then being disappointed because there is no nightlife.

Or staying on the Vegas Strip, and longing to commune with nature.

I agree with most, the food is good and the service among the best I think. I enjoy having a butler and the things that come with it. The Ports, for us to many-however the nice side of that is on a Port day it becomes your ship. So for us it's a nice cruise line. We're taking a short break from "O", and trying their sister ship Regent. Will we be back, I think so because "O" really is a good line. If this was my first time on "O", I'd try it because until you do you'll never know if it's the line for you.
