Marina Days

We are considering a seven day cruise on the Odyssey in September From Venice to Greece. There is nothing on the itinerary about a Marina Day.

Are Marina Days offered during a port day or only a day at sea? Are Marina Days scheduled and posted on the itinerary or will they be offered without a lot of advance notice.

From my experience it is always a port day when tendering. Usually you are notified well in advance but it will still be weather dependant.:D

We had 2 marina days Istanbul to Venice, the second was in Parga. Both were tender days. And both we had already organized excursions at those ports before we found out it was on. As it turns out one was cut short just after starting and the Parga didn't even start due to weather. It does not take much wind or wave action to cause a cancelation. On our Parga day I thought it was quite calm.

In the last four years of doing Med BTB cruises each year that each started out with a marina day on each segment all but one were canceled due to the condition of the seas. We must have some sort of bad marina karma. Don't travel with us if a marina day is Important to you!

I've done several SB cruises and so far all marina days got cancelled. However the "Caviar in the Surf"-days offer watersports activities as well...
