Dubai- metro or taxi

We plan to visit the creek and then travel to the Dubai mall.Should we walk to al Ghubaiba metro station and then transfer at Burjuman metro station to the red line to go to the mall or use taxi.Which option would you recommend based on cost/time?

Don't know if you are allowed to walk from the cruise ship terminal. Why not take the free shuttle to the mall?

which mall does the free shuttle go to? The original plan was to take a taxi from the cruise terminal to the creek and have a walk around the area and then either take the metro or taxi to Dubai mall.

Goes to the Dubai Mall and returns. We did this in November. The bus stops right outside the cruise port terminal and are the same buses that the hop- on, hop- off uses. As I remember the shuttle has a sign in the front window so you don't get on the for pay bus.

They run about every half hour.
