We are Canadian. Our cruise was booked in US dollars and we were provided Canadian Discount on cost of cruise which seems to be 15%. We pay in US

DOLLARS. We use a credit card which converts automatically to Can $ when processed. And there are NO bank fees or mark up on exchange rate. They provide the figures on your statement which is payable in Can $. Some credit cards have No annual fees and NO foreign exchange bank fees and some also provide cash back on your statement. We have used our card all over the world and check each item on return. No surprises. Comments from Retired Canadian banker. Elwin

Maybe when you pay 25-30 cents on each dollar they will to keep your business :D

Or better still come to Canada for your next vacation & save $$ ;)

Well that sounds like a good exchange rate then

I can buy 1 USD @ $1.315 at the bank

as long as your CC has no FT fee it should work out

The main point is the comparison with the exchange rate and the rate Oceania is giving. At this point, it looks enticing. We got the Canadian discount for our upcoming trip and that certainly helps given the current exchange rate.
