Paying CAD

Has anyone paid in Canadian yet?

I am just about to pay a deposit in CAD, and I just want to make sure there will be no surprises...it just goes on your Canadian credit card with no problem, even though it's an American company?

My TD Visa says it should be fine, but hope someone has had the experience!

Thanks!

Is this a promo code CANADA cruise? They're giving you guys a 15% break and free airfare from Ottawa, Toronto or Vancouver, these days- ;)

I booked our past April cruise in USD & got the CAD discount so cannot really comment

Plus my CAD CC has that hidden FTF in the exchange conversion

I would ask your TA if she knows how it works ..she is so smart I bet she will know ;)

According to my TA, to pay in CAD, the cruise has to be after late spring 2017 and the exchange rate will be adjusted every quarter.

I havent seen anything official about paying in CAD as opposed to the Canadian resident discount. Where did you get this information from?

I did email O a couple of months ago for clarification but never received a response which in my experience is normal.

I would be interested in their exchange rate they use

some lines will use their own dynamic exchange rate which can be higher than just using a CC (without FTF)

Oceania says it's charged in CAD, and their exchange right now is 1.25.

Well that sounds like a good exchange rate then

I can buy 1 USD @ $1.315 at the bank

as long as your CC has no FT fee it should work out

no, it's just a cruise quoted in CAD, rather than USD.

It'a bit of a break, not 15%, when they convert to CAD.

(shhh, don't tell RJB!)

Kind of tough to keep a secret. Welcome aboard and have a great cruise. Maybe on my next cruise they will give me a good guy discount??? :):):)

Maybe when you pay 25-30 cents on each dollar they will to keep your business :D

Or better still come to Canada for your next vacation & save $$ ;)

thanks, RJB!

Maybe we'll meet someday, eh?

That would be very nice. We just came back a few days ago so it probably will be a little while. Europe seems to be out right now so we need to find other places to go. :):):)

Been there. A beautiful country. Have a lot of friends from Canada who winter down here. Sure we will visit again. :):)
