Fantastica experience - are the perks(drinks) per person or cabin?

Does anybody know how to get this 12 vouchers? Would they just be given to you once you board or you need to request them on the ship or request them ahead of time?

We've sailed MSC on the Divina, and picked up all of our vouchers (not just Fantastica) in the casino bar. Vouchers are sorted behind the bar, by deck numbers. Those on deck 5 picked up their vouchers on the starboard side of the bar ... working across the bar towards the port side for the upper decks.

The exact location may be different on other ships or in other cruise markets. The location of voucher pick-up should be listed in your Daily Planner which is usually provided at check-in during embarkation (and / or at Guest Services). If unsure, ask while you are checking in during embarkation.

If by any chance you have a UK booking then you will not get these.:(:loudcry::mad:

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi Macattack1111 - we were on the celebration back in may as well but never met any CC members

I even wore a CC badge in the hope of meeting some.

I have gone into these vouchers in some depth and it is a minefield.!!

It appears to depend on the Whim of MSC.

First story is we were on the Poesia in the Caribbean in January. We dont drink a lot but we like one or two a day when on holiday so the Vouchers would have been great. At the time the MSC UK website were pushing this package as being available for cruises in the Caribbean so great went ahead and booked. This was last year sometime and a bit nearer the time when we had all the paperwork I started to work out how many packages we would need.

When I tried to buy them they were not there???

there were several other packages but for the amount we drink they were not worth it.

I went to MSC UK and said was there a problem with the website as I could not buy the package and they came back and said it is not available on that cruise.

I went back and said but your site says it is available on cruises in the Caribbean and they still said no.

A few weeks later as the ad was still the same I went back and and complained they were still selling the package for cruises in the caribbean and I would go to trading standards.

Next week they had changed it to Cruises from American ports. Which meant it was actually only available on the Divinia.

Second story , we are booked on the Sinfonia from Durban to Venice 2018 and this time they ONLY have the tickets- they dont have AI as it is suggested the S Africans would drink the ship dry in the first week!!

Well we bought the vouchers but cant get any indication of what they will actually buy and the price of the drinks on the ship appears to be a commercial secret- CC members have trid asking the MSC UK, USA, &SA and getting a definite response is impossible. The same goes for what currency is the ships currency - it is quite clear in their brochure and in FAQs what it should be but when you actually get on board it can be different.

That is also relevant to the drinks vouchers as it seems that what they will buy is always in Euro but on board the drinks are priced in Dollars then your on board account might then also be in Euro.

So probably the only semi sure way of finding out if the Drinks voucher package is available for your cruise is to buy the cruise then

I don't know about Europe, but when I bought the package on the Divina, it covered everything, from drinks to Gellato, to specialty coffees. The package is for 18 of anything, but it's not per person, though anyone can use the coupons.

First of all, thanks for the quick replies.......

Deliver42, you say you have booked on the msc seaside

For next year and bought the drinks vouchers......how did you pay for the vouchers?...did you phone MSc up? Did you phone MSC UK or MSC usa ?.........we

Haves booked the Meraviglia in Dec.....but in the customise cruise section there is no mention

Of drinks vouchers.......what am I missing here......that's what makes me think its vouchers only in the Caribbean.

Thanks again Bill

It was by phone in the U.S. Here, the Fantastica cabin automatically gets a 12 drink pp standard, but I purchased the 18 drink coupon book. That is not per person, but total.

There is no 12 drinks in Fantastica in Europe

Its one of my major complaints! Now we have more of a story I believe

macattack1111 although in the UK has booked a Caribbean cruise through a US travel agent so as far as MSC are concerned maybe it is a US booking. The bit I dont follow is that the original question was regarding the 18 vouchers and we dont know the outcome of that.

I would have thought that if MSC did have it as US booking then

they would be in the "manage my booking" unless he is not boarding in Miami - some of the cruises there just go round and round and you can board in various places. Maybe Bridgetown?

For those asking about the paid voucher packages for Caribbean cruises (through MSC Cruises USA or US travel agent), if my recollection is correct, the packages are available for sailings out of Miami ... not necessarily Martinique, Barbados or Guadeloupe. Your mileage may vary.

I have spoken with msc USA and to clarify the 18 drink vouchers are only for ships sailing in the Caribbean....davini...seaside etc etc.

The only vouchers on the Meraviglia are the 12 drink per person promo on fantistca

Category booked in the USA only.

Cheers bill

Thanks Bill a bit more info

"ships sailing in the Caribbean....davini...seaside etc etc."

But probably not MSC ships sailing in the Caribbean, but not from

Miami , eg any that just go round and round the islands - Sinfonia.

So --- lots of good questions and answers here. I'll add another.

Do the vouchers for adults look different than the vouchers for children?

My family of me, husband, and six kids are spread between two Fantastica cabins. We have one adult, one teen paying adult fare, and two children in each stateroom. I'm trying to determine if my paying-as-adult-teens will have vouchers that could be used for more options than the "children" vouchers.

If they are under 21 they will get the non-alcohol vouchers, unless sailing on a ship where the lower age limit for consuming alcohol is 18.

The following post has a photo of what the voucher looks like:

But your cruise fare on the UK site will be approx. $60 less per person. Right?

Price depends on the ship, the region it's sailing and the promotions being offered in different MSC markets, so it's not possible to state definitively what the price differences are between regions.

Sailing MSC Seaside Jan 27, 2018. What are their non premium spirits? I like mudslides on the rocks. Three liquors on ice (Baileys, Kahlua and Vodka) was wondering if mudslides are included with mealtime beverage package?

Check your reservation for availability. I do not see that listed on my April Seaside cruise, but have had this package before. Liquor and liqueur are not included.

The following is what's included in the mealtime package:

Unlimited wine (a choice of 2 white, 2 red and 1 rosé house brands), mineral water, draft beer, sodas and fruit juices during lunch and dinner.
