Thank you for doing this Pete! (And Mike;))

:)

I've been trying to find a photo you once posted of the exterior of the Divina YC cabins. I have one of the 'fat' YC1's booked, port side, and you had a great photo of the balconies. I think it was a post where you were helping someone with a sheltered balcony. I remember you had the red X's on the pics that they were concerned about. Unfortunately I got a new computer and lost my old bookmarks. Any chance you could find it again? I covet YC porn shots. :p:D

Is this the image you were thinking of?

Pete,

Do you know if 16029 on MSC Fantasia is the same size balcony?

Thanks in advance

Same size as what?

I assume you mean the larger YC1 balcony, in which case the answer is NO

16029 is the standard size YC1 cabin and balcony

I hope our balcony on deck 10 is as nice as the one shown. We have 10105 on June 4, 2016. Thanks for these pics.

Your balcony will be the same as the very first image at the top of the page in post #1

Hi Pete,

First, thank you for all the time spent responding to MSC cabin questions. The service you've provided is invaluable!

I'm getting conflicting information concerning a Divina cabin assignment. MSC has told me that cabin 9073 is not a metal hull balcony. But looking at some of the pictures you've provided, it appears to be. Can you clear this up for me before final payment?

Certainly

if you look at the first image of Preziosa you will see that ALL balconies on deck 9 on the front hump are steel highlighted in RED. this is true for Divina as well.

But if you look at the 2nd image of Splendida you can see that there are a lot less steel balconies in total. this is the same on Fantasia.

So there are two types of design with the first 2 ships built having fewer steel balconies.

This is where the confusion arises and the MSC staff aren't fully trained on the differences between Splendida / Fantasia and Divina/ Preziosa

Your cabin will definitely have a steel balcony as I said earlier

Preziosa (identical to divina) NB I haven't missed deck 17 ! It does not exist because of Italian superstition)

Splendida

Here is an image of Divina with the "EXTRA" steel balconies highlighted in RED

hope this is clear for you. please feel free to down load the images and use them to convince any doubting MSC staff that I am correct.

Oh well. I guess a chair will do. Would love to have the chaise lounge shown in the picture for deck 10 further down in the posts. Do you know which room in category on Deck 10 get lounge chairs??

The lounge chairs are put there by request, but you have to ask the right person. Your cabin steward will probably say it's not allowed, you may need to go to the top ie the hotel director to get one if your balcony can take one.

It is probably only viable on the aft decks 10 and 11 and the larger corner balconies next to the hump walls. Some of the "H" cabins will probably take them and some of the YC suites will.

It's not down to any particular room category.
