Question

Recommended Posts

Hi,

We have cruised many times, but are going on our first cruise where we are driving to our embarkation port.

My question is in regard to the size of toiletries bottles.

Since we are not flying do we still need to bring travel size bottles of shampoo, mouthwash, etc.

If we do not need travel size items, can we pack them in our carry on luggage.

Thanks

Barb

The restrictions on liquids is for the airlines. The cruise line does not care how much shampoo you carry on.

One caveat though, the cruise line does care if you bring any alcohol on board, other than the two 750ml bottles of wine per stateroom.

You may bring a gallon size bottle of shampoo if you desire. TSA does not manage cruise docks!

On my Enchantment cruise back in March I had to go to the naughty room to get my luggage. They saw my bottle of mouthwash and wanted to open it to see if it was indeed mouthwash and not alcohol. This was during spring break and my room steward said that they look more closely at stuff during spring break. On my October cruises I had never had a problem.

Thanks again for all of the quick responses.

This will be our 19th or 20th cruise, but as I stated, we never have left from a port within driving distance so this question popped into my mind.

You can always count on CC for a prompt answer.

And I am guessing your bags can be as heavy and over-sized as you want just like the good old days. (as long as you can carry, pull, or push them) :)

You guess right. :p

As long as you (or some porter you pay), can carry, pull, or push them. ;)
