Buy foreign currency with OBC?

I will have a cash account onboard with my already pre-purchased OBC. Can I have the foreign currency amounts I want to buy for the various ports deducted from the OBC or do I have to get the cash from the casino first?

Buy your foreign currency ahead of time. Royal charges ridiculously high exchange rates. If you have a cash account you can get your money out in US $ at the casino no charge. Take the extra US$ home with you.

What I was actually asking is if it is posssible to buy small amounts of foreign currency from my onboard cash account. Not worried about the exchange rate on a few dollars :)

Royal charge the on board account in US$, if you withdraw money in the casino will be given to you in US$ plus a % for service. Front desk might exchange US$ currency for Euros or other currency but very limited as the entire vessel runs in US$.

The ship is not really a currency exchange. They will try to help, but I would not depend on them having what you need. I would instead try to use an ATM in the port.
