LIMPIT Posted July 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) We have booked standard sea view cabin on our forthcoming first Costa cruise, and note that seating for dinner is assigned on boarding. Has anyone had difficulty obtaining their preferred seating time, we ideally require the late seating . The cost to upgrade to Premium so you can pre-book is an additional £50 each Edited July 14, 2015 by LIMPIT
G.M.T. Posted July 14, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2015 The additional charge for premium category cabins includes a lot more perks than just the preferred early or late dinner seating, things like breakfast in the cabin, room service f.o.c., 10% discount off next cruise and lots more. In your cabin you will find a card stating your restuarant, first or second sitting and your table number. Try to see the Maitre 'D asap to try and get your preferred seating time (crossing one's palm may help). In the daily program "TODAY" will be listed when the Maitre 'D can be seen about changes, don't wait for this as it gets very crowded.
Dancer Bob Posted July 15, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2015 The maitre d's are usually very accommodating. If they can't do anything at first, asking on the second night what's become available may work. Personally I book Classic cabins, but I would never recommend one to anyone who cares about dining times, as GMT says there's other perks as well. Don't know about UK, but in North America most travel agents are completely ignorant of Costa.
