suite escort to room

As always I love your logic & just plain common sense! I read posts about what people expect because they are staying in a suite & can only think there must be nights butlers on these ships lay in bed dreaming of inventive ways of throwing suite passengers overboard 😝

I usually lose the escort and head to Topsiders.

:) I find the best part of the week is getting lost on the ship & finding new area's

I enjoy finding a quiet spot or walking around not knowing or caring where I'm headed. It doesn't take much to enjoy yourself while on these beautiful ships. That's one of the many reasons we cruise I guess.:)

Majesty 2009 but then everyone was greeted with champagne in those days. I don't miss it except we did see our room steward from the Wind and he was allowed to walk with us. You are escorted to Cagneys now and it works for me... I'll have that mimosa now with lunch thanks;)

That being said, the expect ion comes from the fact that NCL advertises

We were escorted to our aft penthouse on the dawn in January. Although it was by a casino dealer and not our butler. They grouped us by area and then escorted us in groups. We went up with the other aft suites on our deck with one escort. We dropped the bags and then they offered to take us upstairs to lunch or let us roam.. We chose to roam and explore.

I'm just still trying to understand why you would need someone to walk you to the room? Surely you could find it on your own and inspect it and if something was not right then contact the butler? I must just be missing something or it must just be a way for them to provide special attention to the suite guests. Nothing wrong with that.

Ha ha! We could just find our room on our own, but what's the fun in that? In all seriousness, we had no understanding of what we were getting into on our first cruise. We knew we had a butler and concierge, but we didn't know how important we would feel. :) The escort was great for getting through security (front of the line please and thank you) and the checkin (lounge with cookies and juice). We were escorted to Cagneys's (we were on the Jewel), where we were left to enjoy lunch. After we ate, we looked at each other like, "What are we supposed to do now?" So we went to our suites on our own (no escort), which were ready and found them with no problem at all. No, it's not hard to find your room, but that initial interaction with the escort did make us feel a tiny bit more important!
