New cruise ship what would like too see on them ?

The air bikes that Carnival will have on the Vista! I hope all of their new ships have them.

More of the virtual balconies and windows in inside cabins. I might consider an inside to save money if it had them.

And, I would like to see non-smoking ships entirely. Let the smokers stink up the older ships and keep the new ones smoke-free!

First thought is an air recirculating system that does better at removing the smoke from public areas around the casino. Otherwise, I am pretty happy with amenities as they are.

There is a much simpler solution to this problem - ban smoking in the casino as several cruise lines have already done.

Carnival already tried that when the Paradise first came out. It remained smoke-free for about two years (I think.) Trouble is, there aren't enough non-smokers to keep a non-smoking ship filled year-round. And why should new ships only be available to a specific group? Isn't that discriminatory?

Paradise was launched in 1998 as a non-smoking ship. That was 17 years ago!! That experiment lasted until 2003 - five years, not two - when Paradise was moved to Long Beach to do the short Mexican Rivera cruises favored by the party types who were more prone to smoking.

The world has changed quite a bit since then. Most cities in the US regulate smoking in restaurants and bars. Many European cities do so as well. Even some Asian cities, where smoking has been pervasive, are starting to regulate smoking.

Attitudes about smoking are much different today than when Paradise was conceived. Seventeen years ago most cruise lines allowed smoking just about anywhere on board. Today, all cruise lines now restrict smoking in most areas of their ships - some in ALL inside areas. And only about 17% of passengers still smoke - a definite minority.

A fully non-smoking ship would do just fine today. It is just a matter of time before this happens.

Shower/tub combo in balcony cabins not just JS & above.

An area of the WJ open very late at night serving breakfast type foods.

High speed internet included in cruise price.

Laundry facilities on RCI (like on PCL).

Room service offered on disembarkation morning.

Better TV programing in cabin inc dvr's (all cabins) and a place onboard to check movies out.

These are few of my RCI wishes.

25 year old blondes in bikinis.:D

lol.....to funny !!!!!

As far as smoking, I really wish they had a block of rooms that could be smoking on one side of the ship, maybe in the back. Like I said, I just want EVERBODY to be happy !!!! Oh, and more power outlets an extra one in the bathroom would be great!

I think they had problems crewing the ship as well - remember that Asia (where many of the crew come from) has a much higher rate of smoking than US/Europe.

World wide, only about 20% of the population smoke. (source: http://www.who.int/gho/tobacco/use/en/). And a majority of these people come from low income demographics who couldn't afford to cruise if they wanted to. The vast majority of people affluent enough to purchase cruises do not smoke. That is proof enough that there are plenty of non-smokers in the cruising population to fill ships.

No more discriminatory than ships being available to only the group of people who can afford to cruise on them. Or only to the group of people who don't get seasick on them. Or only to the group that can take the time off. Or only to the group .... well, you get the idea! ;)

Well we do purchase cruises (suites) and I smoke some as well as my mom and stepdad . He will no longer cruise because of the smoking ban on balconies. ( guess they left out the majority that have money and smoke) .... anyway there is only 10% of the ship for smoking the other 90 is for the non-smokers . Just avoid that 10% you'll be just fine I'm sure ! Ok off the smoking topic ..... What's else Would we like to see ?

I'm another vote for solo cabins with balconies... Or even ocean view. I think Quantam class on RCL have them but most others seem to have only inside solos. In an ideal world self service laundry on longer cruises (although real world I think this would cause problems with people leaving stuff in machines all day). Also ideal world, adults only cruises that aren't swingers cruises etc. just a kid free experience. Well stocked library, free wifi (even if it's a limited amount).

If you think that 17% (the percentage of who smoke these days) is "the majority", you have no idea what the meaning of majority is.

WOW,only 17% ?!?! Then This shouldn't even be a problem for non smokers .:) let's just agree to disagree!

Sorry, I can't "agree to disagree" with you. 17% is not a majority, regardless that you disagree with that fact.

Never said a few smokers on board were a problem. The cruise lines I patronize restrict smoking to just a few places, so it is easy to avoid the stench of cigarette smoke. Unfortunately, there are some smokers who think themselves above the rules and smoke in prohibited areas, such as on balconies. I do have a problem with THEM!

I disagree with you about smoking on a cruise ship period . I should be able to smoke on my $5000 balcony (suite) and enjoy if not for 30 minutes a day .

And like I said my parents and other friends who purchase suites as well , will not even cruise now because of the changes..... So I totally disagree !!!!!!!

So to be nice about it , I said let's just agree to disagree !

I really don't care that you want to smoke on your "$5000 balcony (suite)" - [FYI: bragging doesn't impress me]. The rules on virtually every cruise line now prohibit such activity. What you want and what the majority of people want - clean, smoke free air when on their OWN balconies - are obviously very different. Thank heaven the cruise lines are smart enough to be willing to sacrifice a small percentage of customers to please the overwhelming majority. The strict smoking policies encourage many of us non-smokers to cruise even more.

There is nothing to disagree with - the cruise lines have made their decision. Now you can decide whether you will accept that decision graciously (which apparently you refuse to do), or stay off those ships. Just don't smoke next to my balcony because I will NOT hesitate to report you. And THAT is something most people will agree with.

Would never try to impress you are anyone else ! I was replying to a earlier comment about marjority of smokers not being abel to afford to cruise.... My family smokes and we can afford to cruise !! I

I don't break rules , if I smoke its in designated smoking areas . But I can see your one to want to argue , so yes I can see you complaining and reporting anyone for anything , expecially if its not going your way !!!!

ANYWAY !!!!!! Would love to see more live music and maybe more people chilling out and not being so uptight on a cruise ;)
