Hi We are going on the Magellan ship (British Isles discovery)the ports of call are Kirkwall Orkney isles),Stonoway,)Tobermory),Dublin,)St Marys isle of scilly,)St petersport )Guernsey),Honfleur France,

Has anyone been on this cruise? Is it possible to just get of the ship and get local trips, rather than doing them through the ship,

Any information on these ports of call will be much appreciated

Many thanks

You may get information on what's available in these places if you research them on Trip Advisor or contact the Tourist Information Centres in each centre. Travellers often recommend good local guides and small tour operators on TA.

Before planning to do our own thing in any port we find out the location and proximity of the dock to the city centre and the cost and reliability of transport between the two.
