If you are trying to add for onboard credit you will have to wait until you board. Once you board you can apply at the kiosk or at guest services. Hope this helps.😁

You can also buy yourself cruise cash now and pay with the e gift card. Then you can use it in the casino and cash out if you don't spend it all.

Can't you do the same thing with gift cards? Why the extra step to buy cruise cash? Am I missing something?

I wondered that myself, since you MUST do the withdraw from the casino thing with cruise cash (or you'll lose any leftover funds)....... and Carnival will mail you a check if you don't with gift certificates.

Sorry for what might be an obvious question, but what is a Verizon E card? Thank you!

A printable gift card. They do not mail the E-Card they e-mail it to you. Works great if you're in a hurry to get your cards.

You can have it emailed but it's kind of tricky. According to DH you have to "view details" first and then look for the dropdown for delivery option, select email and then add to cart.

Sorry just realized that i misread your post volmoma, you wrote that it CAN be emailed :*:)

But I think that it can be either mailed or emailed....?

Would it be possible to handle that when you check in at the terminal?

It's a 10% saver on pretty much the full range of cruise costs: $90 for a $100 ecard or $450 for a $500 card. That can really add up. You can use them to pay down on the cruise, buy excursions, packages or whatever.

Because cruise cash is an automatic credit to your account. It's the same as the "step" you take if you add the gift card onboard. Buying cruise cash with the gift card, you can the credit ahead of time and not have to worry about rushing to guest services as soon as you board.

No need to rush to guest services. You can apply the gift cards to your account at any time during the trip... either in person or through the kiosks.

Also, as mentioned in other threads, buying cruise cash is not as good because you loose what you dont spend. if you simply apply the gift cards, any left over credit will be refunded to you via a check mailed out when you get home. You dont need to carry any cards or print-outs... just have the numbers and pins saved on your phone.

There's a need to rush if you want to buy something right away such as a drink and you have no other funds on your account. I know that's the very first thing I do. I've been using gift cards for years, so I know how they work. The person asked what was the point of buying cruise cash. I just gave my reasoning for doing it. Others do this as well. It's simply an option. And as far as losing cruise cash. For one, I usually only get about $100 in cruise cash. However whatever amount you get and don't use, you can cash out at the casino. I've done that before as well. There's no reason to lose it.

Is Verizon emailing the gift cards again? The past few years you could only get them via regular mail.

Verizon now has e-cards and regular gift cards. Look for the "eGift Card Available" on the site. Right now I'm see $100 regular gift cards and $100 and $500 e-gift cards available.

It can be a little weird getting to the email option. First time in, no problem. Click "See Details" and then look for the Delivery options arrow, select email, and (assuming you're logged in) it will fill in your registered email address.

Subsequent visits for the same card, maybe not so easy. You might only see the "Add to shopping cart" button. Do that and then you won't get the selector for Delivery options, not that I could find anyway. What I had to do was Add to shopping cart, then remove it from the cart, then click "Continue shopping". That took me right back to the Gift Cards list, where "See Details" was again offered for that e-card. The Details button has always (so far) given me the Delivery options selector.

Hope this helps somebody.
