Ports being built in Grand Caymon

I was there last Feb '16. water was so rough, we could not tender in..

was VERY disappointed.

my question is, we were told then, that there were plans that had just been approved,

for a "new" multi ship port facility.

have not read/seen any mention of this...

what is the status of this construction?

Still in planning and arguing stages. You can hope for a dock by February 2018, but you've got a better chance of winning Powerball... :-)

Or as such long term projects are sometimes referenced locally.... it will be ready in February, but we cannot say which year.

Cayman is in its own election season, with general elections slated for May. What happens (or does not happen, as the case may be) with George Town port development may be tied to election outcomes. We might find ourselves back to square one after the ballots are counted.

They've been "discussing" this for YEARS...I doubt it's happening anytime soon.
