Hi does anyone know if you can take a travel iron on royal caribbean independence of the seas, sailing 3rd June from Southampton,

Or is it ironing service only

Travel irons aren't allowed on any cruise line.

Ironing service only. If they find a travel iron, they may hold it until the end of the cruise.

And to add, along with not permitting irons as they are a fire hazard, there also are no self service laundry facilities on any RCI ship. The cruise line offers on board laundry and dry cleaning services for a fee.

If you use hair straighteners and are planning on taking them, they make a fairly useful iron.

If Downy Wrinkle Release or a similar product is available in your area, take a small travel size bottle with you, and be sure to put it in a zip lock baggie (in case it leaks). For major wrinkles, use the ship's pressing service.
