Lois, if you can possibly change your hotel choice to the Eurostar Grand Marina you'll be located right next to the Spirit if she docks at the WTC....which she usually does. Porters from the hotel will escort you with your luggage to the ship, it's a two minute walk.

Sophia 😊

Hi Sophia,:) nope, I cannot change hotels as I booked a non-refundable rate. But that is ok with me. I have the cab $

as part of the cruise finances.;p

I understand...and you'll be just fine as the cabs stop right by the terminal and there's always plenty of baggage handlers there to help.

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful trip....😊

Hi, in the event you have second thoughts, and if they haven't taken payment yet, some hotel groups or individual hotels within groups, don't take payments until the actual stay. What happens in that situation is often (in my case 100%) is that there isn't a trigger in their system to flag to take a payment for a booking that no longer exists.

What I'm saying in a round about way is if you have paid, then you are probably stuck, but if not, you may still have options.

Enjoy your trip.

Jeff, at the Pulitzer/Eurostars Grand Marina prices, she is better off taking the cab. However, your information is very valuable for any other stay with which you may discover a better/least expensive option. The only reason we will be staying at the EGM in our forthcoming trip is that it's only one night before we take the cruise. If not, Hotel Colón in the Gothic Quarter is our favorite in Barcelona... The price is sort of equivalent as the Pulitzer.

Then you'll be fine! Thought I'd ask .... just in case.

Ensure you get to the market in Ramblas for some lovely fresh seafood grub! JP and one or two others are experts on BCN,

Enjoy your trip.

I meant to post this earlier but I was having too much fun.

The real, yes folks, the real ONION rings are back at the pool grill!

No more minced imitation rings. The chef was so proud to show DH that he cut the onion ring to demonstrate to DH that an honest to goodness onion was nestled inside. DH was so happy!

Overall I think the food on this cruise was extremely good!

Crew are the best ambassadors Silversea has, and are terrific.

OOOO! Sounds yummy to me. Will be sure to test! (haha!) Any other "must haves" besides pappardelle with Duck ragu?

Any specialty cocktails I must try? Packing is done....just waiting for the fun to begin! (unfortunately I do not put the airport, flights, transfers in the "fun" catagory!)

Great updating and details from Spins related to your recent experiences with the Silver Spirit food, crew, etc. Hard to complain or worry about enjoying a "terrific" staff and very good food. Wonderful on the REAL onion rings. Will have try in June!

Will have more shortly on Barcelona. The great thing about this charming town is that their airport is not that far from their main downtown. AND, the cruise boarding/port area is also fairly close and handy to main central city attractions, hotels, etc. Love Barcelona!!

Looking forward to many details and frequent reports from Mudhen as to the Silver Spirit, your likes, hot tips, smart ideas, etc.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Happened to see this item on Lisbon this week. From the London/UK Daily Mail two days ago, they have this part of a headline: “See Europe's key cities without breaking the bank: Cheap escape to Lisbon with these highlights: Exploring some of the top sights in Europe need not cost a fortune. With its lofty hills, sun-blushed streets and exciting food scene, Lisbon is hard to beat. It's full of charm — century-old trams, baroque architecture and the Tagus waterfront. Arty abodes and cosy cafes are inexpensive. TOP TIP: Time your trip for the first Sunday of the month when many of the best sights, including the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga and the Torre de Belém, open their doors for no charge.”.

Sounds exciting and fun! Cannot wait till June when we arrive in June for exploring Lisbon and nearby for the first time. Other high-values such as Dubrovnik, Budapest, Warsaw, Riga, etc., are detailed in this travel story. Other experiences and success stories to share from Lisbon.

Love to hear any and all tips, secrets and ideas for Portugal.

AFRICA?!!?: Lots of interesting and dramatic pictures can be seen from this live/blog at:

Now at 31,192 views for this visual sharing including Cape Town, along South Africa’s coast, Mozambique, Victoria Falls/Zambia and Botswana's famed Okavango Delta area.

Lisbon = pastel de nata, the food of the gods, and particularly those from the pastry shop in Belem - http://pasteisdebelem.pt/en/. Unbelievably scrumptious.
