Best Plantation Tour

Are you open to renting a car? I greatly enjoy a "loop" easy drive along both sides of the levy. :) You can stop at several plantations- AND get to see the big differences. Evergreen, Laura, and Oak Ally then San Francisco. With lunch at B&C. :) A lot less than the lesser "tours".

There is no "best" plantation tour.

If you want a real story and a view into a hard working plantation: Laura

If you want a view into a house seemingly separated from the working history but is very scenic: Oak Alley

I can't speak to the others because I have not been to them.

I do like Laura because of B&C nearby, yum boy!

No, we have no plans on renting a car. There's quite a few companies that travel to the plantations and I'm looking for recommendations on which plantations are best and which tour company is best.

Then you might want to find out about each plantation that the tour operators go. Oak Alley is the "usual", it really doesn't matter who takes you there, in my opinion- what should be the priority is how much time you would have there. So it could just come down to price. Take a look on trip advisor, which has a lot more tour information.

I'd love to resurrect this thread, as I'm looking at doing the same thing in a couple of weeks!

I know I definitely want to do the Laura Plantation, because it seems like the most historical with an opportunity to learn a lot.

I'm considering the tour of both Laura and Oak Alley from Viator.

Any other companies I should consider?

Thank you!
