phabric Posted October 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2016 (edited) We have an AMA cruise with their 3 day Paris hotel the end of May. We are taking AMA optional tour of Montmatre and Illuminations on the second night. We arrive on a Monday at 10:55am with AMA hotel transfer. We were thinking on a dinner River cruise or Eiffel Tower dinner that includes a River cruise on our arrival night, only time available. Since we will be seeing Paris lite up with the Illumination tour is it worth the dinner River cruise? Worth dinner River cruise since we will be on AMA River cruise and having meals onboard each day? Any thoughts on an Eiffel Tower dinner then a River cruise? Has anybody had dinner at the Eiffel Tower or done a dinner River cruise? Who to book with? caviargal Posted October 16, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2016 We have been to Paris a half dozen or so times and often take the 90 minute boat ride from Ponte Neuf to reacquaint ourselves with the city. We do it the first night. With all of the good dining options in Paris, we would not bother with a dinner cruise. Nor would we pay big bucks for dinner in the restaurant at the ET. Langoustine Posted October 17, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2016 (edited) Since you're doing the Illuminations tour I would probably say skip the dinner cruise. But the Jules Verne Restaurant? Ah, that's another matter entirely. Is it touristy? Yes. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it the best meal you could have in Paris? No. BUT---how many times do you have a chance to tell your friends you have had dinner high up on the Eiffel Tower? If you can afford it, I would say go for it. If you want a dinner in Paris that will absolutely knock your socks off (and seriously deplete your bank balance), go to Le Grand Véfour.
