Looking for suggestions for Stone Island. We are doing the tour on our own this time. Looking for someplace to have some fun in the sun, beach chairs, food, drinks, and a bathroom is helpful. Can't remember where we were at when we did the tour like 7 years ago. People were mentioning that some of the restaurants are now closed. Thanks for the help.

Here's a good page with some Stone Island info.

We have set up shop at Victor's twice and had great days both times.

There are beach chairs and activities right on the beach. (Everything from horse back riding to ATVs, etc.)

The food at Victor's was good and so was the beach area, where we had chairs and the servers would bring us drinks.

Lots of other places to set up shop for the day, too! Just look for the size crowd you want to be near!

HAVE FUN!

:)

Curious about vendors. Just had friends return from Stone Island via the cruise ship and they said they were hounded by the vendors on the beach? Anyone had this experience? could it have been where they were at didn't monitor the vendors and keep them at bay? Curious as we would like a nice relaxing beach day, food included would be nice with facilities but don't want to be constantly saying No thank you either.

We are thinking of visiting on first trip to Matzatlan in early November. Is there any reason to do a tour (had looked up info on King David Tours) or is it so easy that the freedom of your being on your own schedule beats simplicity of doing a tour?

Grab a pulmonia (golf cart taxis) for a 1 or 2 hour tour. We did an hour tour ($20) and went to the lighthouse, cliff divers, and ended around the church and mercado. We didn't want to go to the gold zone as it has a bunch of hotels, all inclusives, and Diamond Int'l., but that could probably been done also in the hour.
