East Coast to Vancouver, BC Lodging

Coming into Vancouver, BC from the East Coast a day early for a 7-day Alaska cruise. Original decision was to fly in and travel agent was to pickup and take us straight to the cruise terminal as well as return us to the airport at the end of the cruise; due to the long flight, couples have decided we should arrive a day early to recoup from the flight and start the cruise refreshed. Any suggests on clean lodging in Vancouver that may have a shuttle with reasonable pricing, or reasonable lodging and we could do a taxi to the cruise terminal. Any advice is appreciated.

I'm becoming overwhelmed.

I stayed at the Metropolitan Hotel in downtown Vancouver. It was about a five minute walk from Canada Place (where the ships dock). It was about half the price of the Pan Pacific (which is the ideal place to stay because it is a part of Canada Place and all you have to do is take the lift down to the ships).

The Metropolitan was very nice and there were plenty of eating establishments close by and a shopping centre directly across the street.

Taxi to the airport was about $35 Canadian.
