Hello Popper,

We stayed at the Best Western Emerald bay plus. There is also the sister resort called Best Western Caribe...however we do not reccomend it.

That being said!...there are those who do not even fancy the Emerald bay.

We found it to be charming in an old school Caribbean kind of way and a very convenient 5 minute drive from the airport. A great place for a drink and walk on the beach. Adequate for a two day stay before heading onboard Seadream.

Great view from most rooms! I would give it a 7 out of 10. But that's just me.

Generally speaking!we ate breakfast at the BW and lunch, Dinner outside.

As Zimmy mentioned! Oceana was also our very favorite!!

Hope this helps!? 😃

Kathy.

So glad you enjoyed your SD voyage. Thanks for taking the time to check in. It is so nice you had a good passenger mix. That is what keeps us lurking, the people we have met on board or here on CC. A different sort of people are attracted to SD and nice times abound. At least when you break out the ole snow plow, you have the next one to look forward to.:D

Jim,

Hope you have not given up on Seadream altogether? Would be great to meet up one day! 😃🍹🌴

Thanks! Was wondering about day room - were you able to get one after disembarking and if so was it economical, or would you just hang out at the hotel til flight check in time?

Thank you!

No problem,

We had made a reservation before boarding Seadream but somehow they lost it.

They let us use the facilities for the day. Turns out we did not really need it anyway, we just sat around the pool area. They stored our luggage for us.

Otherwise it would have cost aprox 300.00 for only 4 hours. Not really worth it unless you can use the room to shower. I am sure it shouldn't be a problem for November?...

This picture was taken on day 1 of our winter portion of the cruise.

For this leg of the trip we are on nightmare 2.

Today's stop, ILE Cadieux.

This view is taken from deck 3 looking over deck 2's stern, where the pool is located.

Painkillers served at 6pm.

Dinner will be served indoors for obvious reasons...

Brought to you by our director of entertainment: Danny.

Picture to follow....

We also go to Playa del Carmen...there's a great hotel there called Playacar Palace. One street over from the boulevard.

I hate this cold weather....what kind of parents would do this to a person!? LOL

Playacar Palace. That's the place. Good one.:D
