Roll Away Beds

Silly question, but how does the Roll Away bed work, is it pushed under a bed during the day time and brought out at night. Or worst still is it left in the room on the floor. If only 3 passengers is the Roll Away taken out of the room and the Pullman used.

Would like someone who has been in Cabin A506 or A510 to say how is the bed configuration? Do these cabins have a Roll Away and a Pullman bed?

Which ship are you asking about?

There are only a handful of cabins on a small number of Princess ships that use a rollaway for a fourth passenger rather than a second upper berth. (They are indicated by a black square on the deck plans in the Cruise Atlas). If there are only three persons rather than four booked in such cabins the rollaway will not be furnished. But if you are using a rollaway for the fourth person you will have to request the steward remove it during the day or else it will be left folded in half taking up space; it does not fit under the bed.

Thanks for that, the ship is Crown Princess/

We have only had a rollaway on a cruise ship once, and that was when we were in the Grand Suite on the Sapphire Princess. The room was actually big enough to bring it in! We were shocked, because we hadn't even known that this was a possibility on cruise ships.

During the day, the steward folded up the bed and rolled it to the side, between the edge of the couch and the window.

I did not realize that there were some 'regular' rooms that used rollaways, but I would guess it would be the same: folded up and put to the side. I can't see the steward bringing it in and out of the room every day.
