Laundrette

Hi. We are going on Balmoral next year, I know there a laundrette on the ship but is it free or do we have to pay to use the washing machines ?

£2 and includes detergent.

Actually very good launderette with plenty machines and ironing boards. For £2 you get detergent. Suggest you take hangers with you as not many places to lay ironing down and also a spray bottle of water as steam irons not that efficient.

I remember that it is possible to pop in and use the irons without charge to smooth things out on an ad hoc basis hoping that an iron will be free at the time. ;)

There are two launderettes on Balmoral. The larger one on deck 3 and a smaller one on deck 9. You have to get a token to operate the washing machines but then the dryers and the irons are free.

I tend to use the upper one as it is more convenient to our cabin and its easy to pop out onto the outer aft deck with a book whilst waiting for the washing to finish.

However some people do wait for their washing and sometimes the conversations can be quite interesting. It can get very hot in there though !
