Last year on Britannia the quiz was well attended (during the school holidays) with up to 20 teams and was run in the meeting room next to the Epicurean restaurant and waiters came in collecting drinks orders.

We have just returned from our cruise on Britannia and can confirm that it is held in The Marlow suite(near the Epicurean Restaurant) on Deck 16. The number of teams each night varied but averaged 10 or 12 so still quite popular.I usually ask others on the Roll Call if they are interested in making up a team so often have a team before onboard! This cruise I asked if anyone was interested at The Meet and Greet and most of those present wanted to take part!

Sorry, but what exactly is a syndicate quiz?

A general knowledge quiz for teams of up to 6 people. You write the answer on a piece of paper and take it to the 'command table' run by the entertainment team. The winning team each evening gets a bottle of P&O wine  Winners get deducted a point next time they play. It can get very competitive- histrionics and sulking ;p

The Syndicate Quiz (I think it is an odd name that doesn t encourage new cruisers to come along) is a quiz that usually takes place at 10 30pm each evening. You are in teams of up to 6 individuals(usually if you go as an individual or couple you can find a team to join),there are 20 general knowledge questions and each team gets a point if the question is answered correctly. The scores are written on a board as you go along so you can see how your team(and others) are doing. At the end of the quiz(20 questions) the winner is the team with the most points and they win a bottle of wine(traditionally drunk as a team the following night at the quiz) If the winning team is at the quiz the following night they start with minus one. We don t quiz at home but we do enjoy The Syndicate quiz and have won the wine occasionaly. Its a bit addictive!
