High Vista Pricing

For me, the Vista pricing was not out of line when I was shopping around. We are booked on the 6 day western in a FH Oceanview for July 2017. I was also looking at the Escape and the Oasis. An OV on either of those ships was $1,200 to $1,500 more expenses for a family of four. Of course its 6 vs 7 but the 8 day Vista is only about $200 more than these two.

For the same time of the year, one interior virtual balcony cabin on Anthem was $1200 more than the two cabins we booked on the Vista. So I'm good with Vista pricing. If you're not anxious to sail her then by all means wait. Prices may drop but the newer bigger ships cost more. Always.

I really had no choice, but to book the Vista for 2018 because there were not Havana Cabana deck 5 patios left on any other sailing. I can tell you I booked it for about $3,000 for two people for an 8 day southern carbb.

I just got back from the Sunshine 9 day journey cruise for $3,300 that was definitely not worth (to me) the money I spent on it.

I'm thinking I looked at Vista pricing when she was first available for bookings, only stateside ones, and I thought "Gee, this is really reasonable for a brand new ship." However, that was before they continued to hype the boat and its features. My PVP says, the prices will only continue to up and maybe level off once the new ship comes out.

I have been waiting patiently for the June 2018 Vista sailings to open since I am obsessed with the Havana Cabana cabins. On top of that, it offers a 8 day Caribbean cruise to ports/islands that NCL does not visit so it is a perfect match:D.

As my husband and I like cruising in suites, the Havana Cabana gives us some of the NCL amenities such as a private pool/bar area plus a larger cabin/outdoor space at a much lower price. Even the pay for dining options and daily service charges are much less than what we are used to paying.

I guess we are one of those cruisers jumping over to the Vista as clubdisneychandler mentioned :p.

Carnival prices in general have been creeping up. I have two cruises booked on Vista, this year and next year. I paid 1800 and change for a 7 day in a Family Harbour OV, which is highest I've ever spend on Carnival (for an OV)...but to put things in perspective, I also paid 1800 and change for the Disney Dream on a 3 day, but in a cabin with an extended verandah, not apples to apples...but price wise, Carnival is still hard to beat.

I guess I got lucky....got a special offer in the mail 2 weeks ago and booked an interior mid August 8 night Europe sailing for $300.....then just got a call to upgrade to a balcony for $400 more this morning.

The price was so low I had to book it!!

Very good price if only you can plan a cruise from Europe within 90 days which most can't and don't. The airfare is a killer too ....... I think most if not all of the griping is on the sailings out of Florida.

I booked a 6 night Vista cruise for myself, my husband and our daughter in an 8E Lido Deck Balcony a month ago for $1800 total (including taxes, fees and port charges) under Early Saver sailing in Nov., 2017. Today the price is $200 more. They have been steadily climbing since we booked. I have been watching the rates for a while and luckily we seemed to booked at the right time. I'm still holding out hope that prices will fall again and net us a little OBC before we sail...but if that doesn't happen, I'm more than satisfied with the cruise rate we got when we booked!

I booked the Vista in February 2016 for an 8 day on April 22 of 2017. I have the ONLY four person Cloud 9 Spa interior on deck 11 on the ship for my wife and two young daughters. I paid $2865 with tax and port charges for the four of us. Today a standard interior on a lower deck is only about $50 less. The prices keep going up what seems every week. I never felt that the price I paid was great but the further along the calendar goes the better our price looks. The reasons I booked is the fact it's a new ship perfect for young children and it went to four ports I haven't been to. It is what it is but comparatively speaking we just got off the new NCL Escape. I booked that a year out as well and got a balcony and 2 unlimited drink packages for me and the wife for the same price as the Vista. It was an amazing new ship that I can already say was a way better value then the Vista I booked for next year. Still looking forward to the Vista for the criteria It met for us. On a side note, I'd never book a DCL cruise ..... total ripoff in my opinion with their skyrocketing prices.

Can you please share the room number? I didn't think there were spa cabins on the Vista that could accommodate 4?

Thanks

Cabin 11240 ...... It used to be cabin 11232 but Carnival called and said they changed it mid-build. Why only one four person on an entire ship is beyond me.

This initially annoyed me too, why no quad Spa cabins? Except for the one?

Now that I have seen the thermal suite I'm less annoyed. They clearly didn't go all out on the Spa and it's thermal suite. No Thalassotherapy Pool, and far less steam rooms it seems than the Dream class.

Just a big hot tub and heated loungers all in one big room. along with apparently reported infared sauna and aroma sauna (although no pictures of these have shown yet)

I'm sure you will have a good time but we stayed in a Magic Spa inside with 4 people (us and our two kids 9 and 7) for 3 days and we won't ever do that again, way to small.

Don't worry the air fare will make that low price up for you :D

hopefully you have mileage points.

Geesh you're mighty down on people finding good rates for the Vista European sailings. Why? The thread is about Vista high rates. People are giving examples of decent deals they found on the cruise. Airfare aside. If this is something you want to do then the airfare is well worth it.

And good deals can always be had on flights.....if you are diligent. If you have miles to use, etc.

I see. Makes me wish I hadn't automatically counted out these sailings assuming I couldn't afford them. I know two ladies who went on the inaugural sailing and there airfare was $1500 more than what we are paying to fly to Florida this year for 4. A little tightening of the belt and we could have done that as opposed to the same Caribbean route with ports I've already been to. Well....Maybe I'll be more open minded with Vista's sister. Of course I have to first work on my fear of long flights but that's a whole other story.

I agree that cruise prices all over Europe and even Australia are great. However, they know that Americans aren't going to spring for airfare that costs as much as the cruise itself or more. Best prices on Vista are over there so you have to compare apples to apples when it's pricing out of Miami on an equal length trip.

We booked a 8 day Southern Carribean in a Havana Aft Balcony for February 2017 at $1499/pp. A little high, but hey, it's our 25th wedding anniversary and it's worth a little splurge!

We booked the first day Vista itineraries were announced in January 2015. We snagged a category 9C aft wrap balcony for less than $1,300 per person plus $200 on-board credit for the 13 day transatlantic. Looks like the Ocean View rates are that much now without the on-board credit.

We also bought the Fly2Fun airfare from Carnival for $1,279 total for the two of usl. Includes United non-stop to Barcelona and airfare from New York to Virginia.

I booked the last 2 Meds and they TA, the day the bookings came out on Jan 22, 2015. I got $200 OBC on all legs. Have lost it on the Oct 1 (several price drops) and the Oct 11 (couple of price drops), but the TA is still higher than when I booked. I have the same 4J on all 3 legs.

I travel solo, so had a total of $2400 deposit for the 3 legs, which cut my final payments down quite a bit. I'm using air miles to Barcelona and got 1st class Sea-JFK and then Business to BCN..50k miles and $19 total.

On Europe sailings, they are letting passengers bring on alcohol in the ports, which will save some money.

So, total cost for this solo travel in a 4J is a bit over $5600. I thought this was a pretty good price for 33 days on the ship, especially to places I have never been (except Rome)

Well yes I did use miles...still about 600 in fees and taxes for 2 tickets plus 120'000 miles

I booked an inside room for my son and I over 18 months ago. I paid $888/each and got $175 onboard credit. I was upgraded to an inside Havana for no extra fee so I found the pricing very reasonable but I booked so long ago when it was still in early construction.

I feel like the Vista is a great deal. We opted for a 4J interior with picture window/obstructed view and it was only $1,500 for two of us for an 8-day cruise. It was only $1,400 if we'd opted for an interior without a picture window. That's including all taxes and port fees. So $700 pp. And they gave us a $25 onboard credit.

We used Carnival's Fly2Fun for our airfare and saved about $900 over what the two tickets would have cost that same day on Expedia. We paid $864 pp roundtrip to Barcelona, and on Expedia the cheapest flights were right at $1,300 each.
