Next year - May 2016 we will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, and our daughter's graduation from college. We thought that a very nice cruise might be just the celebratory gift for all 3 of us. One of my concerns is if there will be anyone else near my daughter's age (22) on board.

In May, maybe. Better odds in the full summer or holiday times. We've been on a few cruises with people that age on board but not many. (But we tend not to travel in the summer time.)

It may depend on how comfortable your daughter is with only encountering people her parents' age. I myself was very happy to do so when I was your daughter's age, but I suspect most 22 year olds are NOT.

You would obviously want her to enjoy the trip so itinerary could be another consideration.

Good luck on figuring out the best trip for all of you.

We have been on Oceania in May many times and only once did we have a girl in her 20's who was with her grandfather. As Maura said can probably do better

as another time of year. Happy anniversary!

I've seen young ladies traveling with their grandfathers on a regular basis on O. How nice of them to treat them to a cruise. ;)

Not only are there likely to be few passengers your daughter's age onboard, the nightlife aboard O is pretty sedate too. If your daughter likes to talk to well-travelled, worldly older folks she will be fine. If she wants to party and dance the night away - well, not so much.

how long is the cruise?

What time of year?

From where,?

which ship?

All are factors....

Ideal: from Miami...7 days, carribe, and Riveria or Marina during school holiday in a vista suite or larger to get 2 baths and a bit of privacy in the cabin.... penthouse and below to small for over 2 persons.

Even with that, the odds are less than 75/25% against....

Suggest s ship suited to 20 yearolds... Carnival, Princess, RoyalCarribe, Celebrity. You need to consider their needs rather than your wants.

Entertainment alone will be very wanting for someone under 40-50.
