We've been to Cape Town several times and love this city. I saw this article in today's on line New York Times and thought that it would be a good article for those visiting Cape Town to read.

It has some good suggestions (I am currently in Cape Town). I would add, maybe skip some of the eating, and book a tour of Langa Township with M.C. And his company:

You can't begin to understand this country without learning about its history.

 

Also, be careful walking in the city. The drivers are crazy.
