zelker Posted September 15, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2015 We're considering booking a Seabourn cruise and final payment is coming up in less than a week. We've never sailed with them before so wondering if they ever drop prices after final payment is due and if so, how far out might we expect that to happen? Thanks! Capri73 Posted September 15, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2015 This has happened to us 3 times. In the beginning we got the discount in dollars.the last 2 we were offered either a cruise credit, upgrade, etc. They will do something depends on the cruise. zelker Posted September 15, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted September 15, 2015 So if I'm understanding you correctly, you had already made final payment, the price then subsequently dropped, and you were able to get some form of compensation after the fact, correct? By cruise credit, do you mean an onboard credit?
Capri73 Posted September 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2015 Yes.The last time was this past May. The offer was a suite upgrade or on board credit which is nonrefundable.
MWillow Posted September 15, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 15, 2015 The last time it worked for us was this morning. :)

markham Posted September 15, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 15, 2015 I have received partial refunds of fare differences, on board credits and/or upgrades. I use a great TA in the UK. My questions are: What happens when people book directly with Seabourn (not that I ever would)? Would Seabourn offer refunds, OBCs or upgrades? Happy sailing? MWillow Posted September 15, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 15, 2015 Our U.S.-based TA got us some lovely OBC. The cruise leaves in a month.
