Pride of America

Have booked a cruise on RCI in 2019 that arrives in Honolulu on the Sunday. All the round Hawaii cruises leave on a Saturday. Thinking we will just have to skip the Pride of America cruise unless anyone knows is it possible to board on the 2nd day of cruising. Meaning we would fly to wherever the 1st stopover is. Thanks.

Since many people fly in to Honolulu the day of the cruise, I'm sure it has happened many times over the years that someone does not make the flight, misses the ship and catches up the next day. I would think there is a very good chance this would be approved, but the trick will be to find someone at the usual 800 numbers at NCL who is knowledgeable enough to give you the correct info. This is nothing the usual phone rep is going to have any idea about. I'd send a letter to Vivian Ewart, VP of Passenger Services and make your request.

Does the RCI cruise come from the West Coast? If you skipped that cruise, a short 5 hour flight from the West Coast gets you to the islands for the equivalent number of days there before boarding the POA on Saturday.

Thanks for the replies. We are in Australia so coming on cruise from Sydney.

Ahhh, then that's a cruise you wouldn't want to miss! We will soon do the reverse, 29 days sailing from Honolulu to Sydney.

Hope you can get the late embark worked out. We have done the POA cruise twice and love the itinerary. If time and budget allows, one thing you might consider is spending 6 nights on O'ahu between the two cruises. O'ahu does not get the attention the other islands do, with many cruisers flying in and out quickly pre and post cruises, but once outside of Waikiki, it is as beautiful as any of the others. There is more than enough to justify the time.
