MyVegas rewards

I just saw that too. How many people have 2 million gold coin sitting in the bank right now? I'd guess slim and none and slim just left town.

Considering RCL is a competitor of NCL, I wonder if this means RCL won't be coming back on the rewards page as long as NCL is offering stuff. I get the sense the cruise lines unfortunately only view myVegas now as a way to dump low inventory cruises. If they still offered OBC or drink packages, I'd get another RCL cruise in a heartbeat as I have over 600,000 gold coins I don't think will ever get used.

I have 1.6 Million in gold coins, but man 2.5 million on a comp inside cabin seems kind of high. Especially considering Royal Caribbean was giving free Balconies on Oasis in April for 400K.

Also after joining a FB group online, there are a ton of people who buy a ton of chips it seems like daily/weekly. So oddly there are people with that many gold coins.

I was also reading somewhere online (will try to find the link) that NCL still charges $450 per person for the first two in fees/taxes when you use this reqward, which is actually still more than a normal "comp" from CAS.

If true I guess it should be expected for NCL ... just like their charging tax on their the 'free' drink and dining package. Sad that they do that.

That makes this offer worthless. [emoji45] I'd rather choose my own cruise on whatever cruise line I want to wherever I want to go on whatever date I want for just a little more than the "taxes" for this 2 million + coin freebie!

I second the vote for bringing back offers like drinks packages, casino credit, OBC, dining packages, etc. Those are more attainable and valuable to me.

One of the Playstudio Employees on Facebook mentioned they're still working on getting more cruise rewards. Although at their current speed, we maybe dead before that becomes available.

Lol! Well, let's hope they do bring back the good rewards in a timely manner.

  • 2 weeks later...

Boy is NCL ever adding to their offers. If only they would lower the points a bit. Can't win, they are either low and disappear sooooooooo fast, or they stick around a bit longer but only because they are so high in points. I could almost get one of them ... almost.

Yeah....2 million points for an inside or Oceanview cabin is simply ridiculous...especially when you also have to pay the taxes/fees too.

That said, if i had enough points I would be all over one of the 7 days ... interior or not. For me, the CAD / US $$ exchange makes the value even better since we have to add about 30% to any cruise cost, and being a cabin for two it would be like win win. Even the taxes wouldn't deter me and I don't have much else to use the points on so why not.

I would get one if it wasn't so expensive to fly to US from Spain

Ya costs me a bit too, maybe not as much as from Spain but can be 700 or more pp. Those that live closer to ports are sooooo fortunate in this regard. Cheaper flight (if any at all), and no dollar conversion that is hitting really hard right now. Guess I am fortunate to still be able to cruise at all so I'll stop whining now :)

NCL MyVegas rewards....

Okay...so, I have enough points to purchase...BUT, they are for SPECIFIC ship/sail dates and so far, the only one that comes close to what I'd like is the 5 day out of New Orleans. I can drive to NOLA...BUT, if we get the time away, we want SEVEN days NCL!!! And outside, or option to upgrade with a small fee like Carnival does.

So... has ANYONE actually done one of these yet with NCL?

It appears that they are all last minute offers (leftovers). I do agree they are OUTRAGEOUSLY priced coin-wise, but at least you know what ship/sail dates are offered. With RCL, we could never find one that was actually BEING offered.

I'd probably take the currently offered New Orleans anyway if we hadn't been offered a casino cruise already in October. Not quite retired yet. And it is pretty much a given that Carnival Ocean Players Club will give us both a 'free' inside bounce back cabin to book in 2 weeks to sail in 6 months. It's usually $400 total to upgrade to a balcony from free inside.

ANYONE done NCL's MyVegas yet?

Bueller. Bueller..

I am right outside Tampa and enjoying a slow time in the work cycle so have time to cruise. That said, the number of LP for Tampa sailings is out of my reach. Yes, I have enough for the 5 day interior out of NO, but not enough for any Tampa sailings.

Will watch here to see if anyone actually takes NCL up on one of these offers.

In the mean time, off to Carnival Vista in the Med thanks to a casino offer.

PS to NCL - lower the Tampa LP and take cash from me in the ship's casino.

Some insight for everyone, I redeemed for the inside cabin, 7 day out of Tampa on 12/11 for 1,770,000 The ocean view was 2,345,000. Taxes and fees are $344.88 pp , upgrade to oceanview is $90 pp and upgrade to balcony is $320 pp

I called and got these numbers and debating on booking it or getting points back.

It looks to me like it is basically a half price cruise if you put no $ value invested on the 1.7 mil. loyalty points. ( I've never spent a dime on myvegas so I guess they are free)

Would love to hear thoughts. Thanks

Assume the upgrade prices are guarantee cabins in that category? I'm like you, have spent no money on myvegas so totally bonus. Also, our having to do exchange (CAD), the half price is a bigger bonus than the US face value.

Thanks for sharing. I haven't quite got enough points but will soon and good to have insight on what to expect when the stars align or me to get one. My luck NCL will be gone or the LP cost will be more as I always seem to be a few steps behind.

I'll add that those taxes seem pretty high. I thought when I read the fine print that was total for two ... ouch.

Ouch is correct, they have it listed as taxes and admin. fee, they didn't break it down for me but I think it's right at $200pp for the "admin. fee"

I priced this cruise online at $1387 for an inside cabin but you would get the free at sea also for that price. My big hang up is that I have zero faith that myvegas will offer something better in the future so probably doing this.

Is that 1387 pp with tax or for two people with tax.

1387 is 2 people with tax.

Hmmmmm .. 1387 vs 789 taxes on the myvegas free reward ... hmmmm. Assume the 1387 is a guarantee but if that is not a guarantee and you get to select drink package then I'd have really give that comparison some thought. Though even the drink package is not free as you have to pay taxes LOL.

Gotta love 'free' stuff. :D Thanks for sharing what you learned.

And last bit of info I have to provide. I booked this today and was SHOCKED  when they asked me which of the free at sea promotions I wanted with this booking. :D

This is a no brainier in my opinion for anyone with the points since the free at sea applies.
